Obviously Dems shouldn't budge (Dump is hemorrhaging whatever political capital he had), but if they did that would put it in the next president and congress' lap, who would then make it permanent. Then they could shift the five billion to medicare/medicaid budget.

Interesting watching the coverage over on Fox News.
I realized something.
Fox is in disarray waiting for the right wing talking points to arrive.
When something like this happens and Fox is not sure how or why to react, they flounder as if losing their way.
Like a lost child in a department store.

Trump just repeated that he wants his wall, yet Trump also gave in a bit, temporally, on DACA.
DACA, something his base ABSOLUTELY HATES and are 100% against.
So.... what does Fox do? What should they say? How do they respond when Donald Trump has a weak moment?
When Trump tosses in DACA on the table for consideration?
Fox is VERY CONFUSED at the moment.
Until the Rush Limbaugh's and Ann Coulters chime in to give Fox their direction, Fox News is in total disarray.

Regardless of what he could possibly offer, it seems like bad public policy to give Trump anything for his Trumpertantrum. Shutting down the government when you don't get what you want is a bad way to run the government. If he got wall money now for taking hostages, he'd be likely to do it again in the future for something else. Best not to give in for the good of the country and balance of power between the Executive and the Legislature

So.... can Nancy Pelosi believe Trump? Should she even dare?

So Donald said Mitch McConnell is willing to bring this to the floor for a vote this week.
Does Mitch know that?

Trump said a lot and did make some slight concessions.
That was then.
What about 5am tomorrow? When the Trump tweeting starts?
Will Donald keep his word? Will McConnell pay attention or even care?
Can Nancy Pelosi trust either one of them, Trump or McConnell?
And remember..... we haven't heard from Rush Limbaugh or Ann Coulter, yet.

He campaigned on repeal and replace but I didn't hear any speak of that in his speech. What happened to that? Wasn't that going to happen on day one? Now the big beautiful wall is a small section of steel fence? This wasn't what he promised at all. Sad.
