Ok, so I did something stupid. When I built my current computer I used the SATA cables from my previous computer. There was there was plenty of space between the side of the case and the back of the hard drives (which are mounted facing outward to the case). The SATA cables had a straight connector.
However, the new case has very little room between the back of the hard drives and the side of the case. 90 degree SATA connector should have been used. However for some reason I decided to use the straight SATA connectors instead.
Well, this broke the little plastic "L" shaped SATA connector tabs. The data pins are still in tact, so technically data can still be transmitted, however without the plastic tab, the cable won't stay in place.
Is there a way to repair this? I have already bought new hard drives to replace the broken ones, but I'd rather not toss two perfectly good 2TB drives in the trash because some tiny plastic tabs are broken.
Any ideas?
