SATA Drive Jumpers? Huh?

I just got two new Seagate Barracuda SATA 7200.7 160GB drives for a raid 0 array. They came OEM, so I have no way to figure out what the small horizontal row of 4 pins are, but they look very much like jumper pins. No jumpers are attached, however. I know what the SATA data and power connectors look like, these are not them. Nor are the pins a standard molex connection. Any ideas? Do I need a jumper on these somewhere?

I just got a hitachi drive (non sata) but I was looking at the sata documenteation for it. it said if the sata model has jumpers, to just leave them off.

sata has no master/slave issues as there is only 1 drive per channel.

hope this helps.

one drive goes to one port. so theres no jumpers for master or slaves. the bad thing is that u have to have a lot of controllers or ports to be able to have a lot of drives

I'm in the middle of building a new rig with SATA, and here's what WD says about jumpers: "The only use of this jumper block is to enable or disable power management for the drive. The drives ship in the default position with the shunt on pins 1-2 (disabled). Alternatelty , the jumper can be removed completely with the same result. Placing the shunt on pins 3-4 (enabled), designates that the drive will power-up in standby mode."

I read the exact same thing from WD.
