SATA and PATA should have identical heat output for a given model family. Out of curiousity what 7500 RPM drive are you talking about (manufacturer, model, size)?
All of them out now, I believe, are basically PATA drives with a chip to translate the signals to SATA. Might wanna lower your drive or move a fan to get some better airflow over it though.
the drive is a wd 120 7500 rpm got it from newegg
its is in lowest slot of my antec sonota and if i set a fan on it the ide drive thats in the top cut out from the air
