SATA III SSDs. Worth it?

Looking at many SSDs right now. some listed below.

Crucial RealSSD C300
Crucial M4
OCZ Solid 3
OCZ Agility 3
OCZ Vertex 2

My budget is under $150 and am just looking at around 64GB. The SATA III speeds are tempting but im actually looking more at the IOPS and am kinda disappointed at the IOPS for the SATA III drives. Thus is why i have my original SSD i picked out a long time ago but never got around to buying it yet. Now that the 3rd gen drives are out im further expanding my research but having truble wrapping my head around this due to some lack of reviews on especially the Solid 3.

I'll keep doing my research but if any of you could help narrow down the list id much appreciate it.

Unless you're plugging this into a server. SSDs all offer at least 100 times the IOps of a HDD, way more than needed for ANY desktop user tasks. That's probably why vendors got away from it. There's no further gains to be had with more IOps with our current software usage models.

Anyways, If you have SATA3, you may as well go for a SATA3 drive. They'll provide all the IOps you need and give you a huge sequential speed gain for those file copies. At 64GB, any one of those drives will do. Personally, I'd get the Vertex 3 and call it a day.

I would probably avoid the 64GB Agility 3, since it doesn't have RAISE like the larger capacity Agility 3's.

In terms of reliability, the C300/M4 might be most reliable (on the list). The C300 been around for some time now, and the M4 is essentially an updated C300.

Other than that, I would probably go by price.

Why no Intel 510 series option?

Intel reliability for me...although if I had to pick from the list, then maybe C300.

Its too expensive.

Out of the list, C300 is a no brainer to me.
