Sata Lock on SLI Boards

Anyone know whats the story with SATA locks? I have k8n Platinum SLI board. I've seen lots of comments about SATA locks, but no definitive answers. Does anyone know if the SATA ports are actually locked on these boards?.

Yes, they are, at least I know the Nvidia ports are. All nvidia ports on all NForce4 boards are locked. Nvidia learned their lesson from the NForce3.

It's easy to check, just download Clockgen NF4. It shows the PCI and PCI-E bus speeds.
They should always report PCI=33.34 , PCI-E=100, if they increase as you raise HTT they are not locked. SATA drives run off the PCI bus.
