This is between Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
None of our business.
Suggestions?
Summon the Saudi ambassador to the WH and freeze arms sales until a satisfactory explanation is given. Pull back support for their operations in Yemen. Sanction all individuals suspected and prevent their travel to the US and allied nations. Conduct the Magnitsky investigation and sanction senior Saudi officials if their culpability is credible.
The sooner we divest ourselves from the M.E. ,the better. We still have time to focus our resources on developing fossil fuel alternatives and removing our dependency on oil. Take away their oil money and see how fast they crumble.
For this? Seriously? What the fuck rock have you been living under? The US Government is far dirtier than the Saudis could ever hope to be. We have backed despots, tyrants and mass murderers for over 100 years. We supply arms, training and intelligence to terrorists. We overthow legitimate governments and set up puppet regimes that brutalize, rob, rape and kill their own people and the Saudis are like the Care Bears compared to other regimes we have financially and militarily supported. You think we're going to play hardball with the Saudis over one measly little death? Christ almighty dude, wake up. The Saudis can go on a killing spree against orphans and puppies and we'd still keep the arms flowing in because we sold our soul to the devil ages ago and they're too important for us to risk losing them. They will continue to get our unconditional support until we get a stronger or more powerful ally in that region. They are the least of all available evils and we have made peace with that.
Agreed.
....Hey! ...Maybe electing a mobster gameshow hosts that depends on the spending habits of ME despots, handing over giant bags of money while partying at his properties, and a congress full of goblins that blindly and gleefully support this direct, glaring corruption was a pretty terrible idea, though.
I mean, but only if you actually agree with the things you actually claim.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan chided Saudi Arabia on Thursday for its refusal to publicly account for the whereabouts of Washington Post contributor Jamal Khashoggi, saying the Saudi government possesses “advanced” surveillance equipment that would have recorded Khashoggi’s movements in and around the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul, according to a report published in Turkey’s daily Sabah newspaper.
We're lead by a dotard mobster willing to look the other way on anything if it will sell a few condos.
This is what we can expect when the world doesn't respect us.
Why would the SA respect a president that curtsies and sells them weapons and then turns his head when they are murdering civilians?
They own his loans, they can do whatever the fuck they want, just like Russia.
Mohammad is innocent until proven guilty!
fundamentally wrong in every conceivable way.
Turkish authorities have audio and visual evidence that shows journalist Jamal Khashoggi was killed inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul just over a week ago, a source familiar with the ongoing investigation told CNN.
The source, who was briefed by a Western intelligence agency, says the evidence showed there had been an assault and a struggle inside the consulate. There is also evidence of the moment that Khashoggi was killed, the source said.
The foreign intelligence service was shocked by the nature of the evidence, provided in a briefing from Turkish officials, the source told CNN.
Khashoggi, a columnist for the Washington Post, walked into the consulate in Istanbul on October 2 intending to get paperwork that would allow him to marry his Turkish fiancée. He hasn't been seen in public since.
The Washington Post reported late Thursday that the Turkish government had told US officials that it was in possession of audio and video recordings proving that Khashoggi was killed in the consulate, citing unnamed US and Turkish sources.
The audio recording in particular provided "persuasive and gruesome evidence" that a Saudi team dispatched to Istanbul was responsible for Khashoggi's death, the Post reported.
"You can hear his voice and the voices of men speaking Arabic," one person with knowledge of the recording told the Post. "You can hear how he was interrogated, tortured and then murdered."
Turkish government claims to have video evidence of killing.

I'm surprised that such evidence exists. If it's as advertised, it does force Trump's hand. I'm sure he doesn't want to do anything about this. He'd rather just act "concerned." Is he going to deny the evidence like he does with so many other things?

Thank you for your opinion.
Trump's response is that it's not likely we'll have good news but no matter as we need to sell 110 billion worth of arms so that China or Russia doesn't get the money. That is what's not acceptable. He's not denying anything at the moment, he doesn't give a shit about it other than the money.
Later on Thursday, Trump repeatedly alluded to the fact that Khashoggi was not a U.S. citizen. “It’s in Turkey, and it’s not a citizen, as I understand it," he said. "But a thing like that shouldn’t happen.” Trump added later: “Again, this took place in Turkey, and to the best of our knowledge, Khashoggi is not a United States citizen. Is that right?” An aide specified that Khashoggi has been a U.S. resident.
Trump said he wouldn't halt the arms deal. He didn't say we wouldn't impose sanctions. Of course, he will not do that, or anything else.
My guess is we get one of those non-binding "resolutions" from Congress condemning it. Then it will promptly be forgotten.
