IMO it should result is some criminality how in bed we are with that regime. I will be shocked if at the end of day congress doesnt authorize that arms deal. Jerbs and lobby money is too much for them to care about dismembering members of the press.

Well, you know Ike said this is where we were heading. MIC is clearly far more important than our constitution, and our country.

And our humanity.

Just to be clear: Donald Trump wants to make sure that US weapons sales to Saudi Arabia remain unimpeded so that Saudi Arabia can continue its attacks on Houthi rebels who are trying to overthrow the government of Yemen, a government that supports the terrorists that attacked the USS Cole, killing 17 American sailors.

It makes perfect sense if you simply keep in mind that US policy is defined by Israel. Ask yourself: "how does this benefit Israel" and you will quickly find an answer to why exactly the US does things without regard to how much it damages US hegemony or even the safety of US citizens.

In this case, things that are bad for Iran are good for Israel. Helping Al-Qaeda against the Houthis is bad for Iran, so it's good for Israel.

Hopefully now you can look upon the actions of America on the world stage and realize: It's all part of the plan (for greater Israel)

I'm going to bet Trump buys this 'rogue operatives' bullshit hook, line and sinker. Actually he probably just doesn't care because of his business interests with the Saudis. Murdering a journalist is probably a bonus for him to, considering his disdain of journalists.
Same speechifying he does when defending abusive white males or murderous dictators. How does Trump manage to link himself with these types of people?

He denied it
He strongly denied it.

Does the current government in Yemen support AQ? I thought they were at war with AQ in the eastern part of the country, in addition to their war with the Houthis. Is my information incorrect?

"Current government"? What do you mean?

There is a government-in-exile which is supported by the coalition and Al-Qaeda and controls Aden and then there is the Yemeni government based in Saana that is controlled by the Houthis. The latter fights both Al-Qaeda and the various Saudi mercenaries while the former is allied with them.

Lol. You don't know what's going on in Yemen.

Why do you talk about things you clearly know nothing about?
I was referring to the Saudi backed regime, not the Houthis. Try to keep up, Russian.

Check out this cool BBC documentary on Saudi Arabia kidnapping dissidents. Apparently like all terrible things currently plaguing world politics it all started during George W. Bush's administration in 2003.

This article says the "state" and by that, they mean the Sunni state, not the Houthis, is "battling AQ" in the "east of Yemen."

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...k-forgotten-war-deaths-refugees-a8584356.html

Setting aside the confusion over what is the "state" there, I can't find any source saying that either side supports AQ. Which is why I asked.

Much like in Syria, sometimes Al-Qaeda finds it advantageous to ally with certain forces (in this case Hadi's government-in-exile + UAE mercenaries + Saudi mercenaries) and in other cases they find things to fight with them over. However, there are forces that Al-Qaeda ALWAYS fights with, and NEVER allies with.... and in this case that's the Houthis. So you can definitely say that Al-Qaeda is fighting, and not allied with, the Houthis.

There have also been fights between UAE-backed mercenaries and Saudi-backed mercenaries, lol. It's a real shit show. Similar things happen(ed) in Syria between Turkish-backed and Saudi-backed factions.

The whole thing is really complicated. It would take me about 2000 words to really even give you a good overview of what's going on... which is part of the problem. Foreign policy that can't be distilled into sound bites isn't usually stuff that Americans (as a whole) have a capacity to grasp or vote for.

I feel confident if Trump were President in 1942. It would have been this when stories first broke about concentration camps

Chancellor Hitler denied it, he strongly denied it.

Donald Trump:

"For the record, I have no financial interests in Saudi Arabia (or Russia, for that matter). Any suggestion that I have is just more FAKE NEWS (of which there is plenty)!"

Also, Donald Trump:

At a 2015 campaign stop, Trump bragged to the crowd about his business dealings with the Saudis. “Saudi Arabia, I get along with all of them,” Trump said. “They buy apartments from me. They spend $40 million, $50 million. Am I supposed to dislike them? I like them very much.”

What a load of shit.
Trump is covering for the Saudis and MBS. He floated their trial balloon of a "rogue operator" while the Saudi cover story has already changed multiple times.

Trump is taking the role of their PR puppet.

Salah Muhammad al-Tubaigy, who has been identified as the head of forensic evidence in the Saudi general security department, was one of the 15-member squad who arrived in Ankara earlier that day on a private jet.

Tubaigy began to cut Khashoggi’s body up on a table in the study while he was still alive, the Turkish source said.

The killing took seven minutes, the source said.

As he started to dismember the body, Tubaigy put on earphones and listened to music. He advised other members of the squad to do the same.

“When I do this job, I listen to music. You should do [that] too,” Tubaigy was recorded as saying, the source told MEE.

A three-minute version of the audio tape has been given to Turkish newspaper Sabah, but they have yet to release it.

So the Saudis sent a guy who cuts people alive often enough that he has developed music habits to go along with that job. But Trump will be looking for the real "rogue killers" and pushing "interrogation gone wrong" lie, while Pompeo is over there sucking up to the thug who ordered the murder.

Holy crap. So a turkish paper already has the tape.

This is a threat to Trump and the Saudis that he could blow up their "rogue agent/accident" cover story at any moment. I bet Erdogan is going to milk this scandal for all it's worth.

This is truly amazing stuff. Trump can't afford to throw MBS under the bus but he appears to have no choice!
