Well this is messed up if true..

Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salman bragged of receiving classified US intelligence from Jared Kushner and using it as part of a purge of 'corrupt' princes and businessmen, DailyMail.com can disclose.

The de facto ruler of the Middle East's largest economy is currently on a US tour which has seen him meet President Donald Trump in the White House, hold talks with a string of the country's richest and most influential people and book the entire Four Seasons in Beverly Hills for himself and his entourage.

Sources have told DailyMail.com that the prince – known by his initials MBS – has been boasting about his close relationship with the president's son-in-law and senior adviser, and the intelligence which he has told his circle Kushner passed to him.

Wut? Please justify why you think Saudi Arabia is so dependent upon the US? For anything we don't buy from Saudi's, someone else will buy it (oil). For everything Saudi's do buy they can buy it elsewhere.

Not to mention if we do attempt a conflict with them, you just risk more separation from the western world and they are more likely to be welcomed from the likes of Russia and China.
Well mainly because their regional enemies have already cosied up to Russia, SA is dependent on the West and particularly the US for its regional power.
Plus the SA royal families do so love shopping in NY, London and Paris. Moscow and Beijing are just not the same darling.

The US has, in recent history, proactively voted for military interventions in countries based on half baked evidence and falsehoods that have resulted in the deaths of hundreds of thousands, if not millions of lives.

No one, from any recent adminstration, would do much more than offer a strongly worded admonishment of the KSA over one dead journalist. Literally not a big enough deal to rock the boat with a geopolitical ally.

So who knows maybe DT will scuttle the petrodollar or something let's watch...

Remember when we thought this guy would modernize Saudi arabia?

Now there's the shitshow in Yemen, blockade of Qatar, temper tantrum against Canada and chopping up a journalist in another country. Well done mbs...

Oh you mean like in Europe where Russia is killing people off?

Europe is making tons of harsh consequences to Russia.... like... building a dedicated gas pipeline. OH BURRRRN! Those Russians are gonna learn their fucking lesson amirite?

People love to say "We should do something" but when someone questions them with "Well, what do you expect for us to do?" the only reply ever is "I dunno lol ¯\_(ツ)_/¯"

The Germans, decades ago, decided to do business with Russia (then the Soviet Union) in order to tie them more closely economically to reduce the risk of a war which they thought would obliterate Germany. It's very arguable times have changed but that same political calculation still runs a good deal of the decision making. This is the basis for the Nord Stream 2 support. Also, I think this, specifically, is less consequential than most people are making out. Russia needs to sell gas more than Germany needs to buy it specifically from them since without energy exports the Russian economy would implode. Russia is not on the more powerful side of the relationship.

Ah, gotcha, so saw off our own foot in an effort to demand actions. Makes sense. I mean, even Trump's answer to your point is logical - you act as if they are going to go "OH WE SO SOWWY! We admit we made a mistake!" Keep dreaming guys, believe it or not, but we aren't the only ones that can manufacture arms. But... go ahead and support Russia more?

I could not possibly care less if the Russians ended up selling the Saudis arms. That we do, considering how they are used, probably should be an immense scandal in the first place.

Only thing that's modern is their propaganda. SA should disgust anyone.

Kashoggi recorded his own murder using his Apple watch. He had it upload to his iphone, which was with his wife. Apple is such an amazing company! Solving international assassinations with technology!

One more reason why anybody who loves technology chooses Apple over the myriad of plebdroid options.

https://techcrunch.com/2018/10/11/missing-saudi-journalist-jamal-khashoggi-apple-watch/

I must be missing something here. The link provided says

Why missing Saudi journalist’s Apple Watch is an interesting, but unlikely, lead

not he recorded his own murder using his Apple watch and had it uploaded to his iphone.

If the murder of 3000 Americans wasn't enough incentive for the US to break ties with the Sauds, this ain't going to do it either.

I really think that until the western world can put their big boy pants on and band together, shit like this is guaranteed to continue.

IF we put our big boy pants on and banded together with the western world (and other NATO allies), China, Russia, AND SA would all be shitting their fucking pants with the monetary losses and sanctions. But instead, Europe just says "Eh, not our problem." when Russia tries to assassinate in England. Similarly here, most countries will react the same way here.

Hell, the only people that have yet to put their big boy pants on was CEO of JPMorgan Chase that pulled out of a meeting with Saudi Arabia. What the fuck does that tell you?

And I can sit here and admit, maybe part of the problem is Trump with his asinine self-centered self... But that shouldn't prevent Europe from banding together. Instead they are just as big of shitheads as any other country - they act in their own self-interest instead of worrying about the world altogether. Go fucking figure. They love to talk but when it comes to walking the talk they are just as fucking shitacular as Trump.

Dunno why you're putting China in there. While I don't condone some of their domestic actions, they're not killing people in other countries. That's a whole different level.

Yeah, no, just people in their own country mysteriously disappearing. That's totally acceptable though....

They only jump off buildings... have their internet access drastically suppressed... But it's all good, they have their rice and noodles to eat.

I mention China mostly though - because they are hands down the closest ally to Russia. They just did military drills with eachother as Putin and Xi both had hard-ons for eachother.

Haven’t read the thread but my opinion is get the hell out of there. Don’t sell them weapons, don’t buy their oil, and don’t let them on our airplanes. Remove all support for the kingdom, release all info on their involvement with 9/11 and any other dirty shit they’ve been involved in, and have the world sanction them like we did with Iran. Cause it to crumble, frick them. China would move in with the quickness though.

Don't forget Richard Branson - he is turning down a $1 Billion investment from the Saudi's now: https://www.theverge.com/2018/10/13...-richard-branson-saudi-arabia-jamal-khashoggi

I'm not defending the Chinese govt. I merely point out that they observe international norms wrt dissidents & defectors abroad. Putin doesn't. Kim doesn't. MBS apparently doesn't, either.

Of course. If we didn't cut off the last arms deal while the Saudis were killing civilians with our weapons in Yemen. No way would we stop 100 billion in arms over one journalist. Remember this when we preach our moral superiority to the world.

Congress has yet to approve the most recent packages of sales and is looking like it may well not, especially if Trump is still all "meh, didn't happen here so don't care" and fails to take any meaningful action.

The Saudis are some of the worst actors you can find and how we've ended up so deeply in bed with them (even more so now) should merit some scrutiny.

Can you imagine how people would have reacted if Bush Jr. came out after 9/11 and said the Saudis firmly deny it and say it was an Israeli operation? Because that’s what SA said at the time.

How has this become normal and acceptable to so many?
