Save 8% on gas at Speedway...10.76% when using speedway VISA card

Not sure if this is national but I would assume so. Our local speedway had some signs posted for $2 off gift cards of $25 or more. Buy a $25 card for $23 to save 8% on purchases including gas.

Speedway is owned by Marathon-Ashland (also the owners of Valvoline).
Marathon "Owned by Americans for Americans" or whatever they say.... imports a LOT of oil from the middle east (you can verify this for yourself at the Dept of Energy website). You know, the guys that fly airplanes into our skyscrapers, and fund their suicide pilots' life and education here in the States?
Just a thought.
Sunoco, BP and Shell don't import any terrorist oil. So, what's a hot deal? Remember that the US government will be covering the insurance on the next one with your tax dollars...

I know people who won't buy at BP after hearing about them fixing prices, a few months ago. It didn't bother me at all buying from BP with 10% off gas cards. To each his own I guess. I'll buy my gas wherever its cheaper.

I'd say if you have evidence of a direct link between speedway financing the terroirsts, that Homeland Security would appreciate hearing about it.

Deal is still going on. Bought another $100 worth, 4- $25 cards for $92. The cashier asked if I would rather have the $100 all on one card. I replied yeah if I can get $8 off a $100 card. She said she could only give me $2 off each card. So I told her I wanted 4- $25 cards then, lol.

If you purchase the gift cards with a speedway VISA with 3% rebates, you can effectively save 11% on gas.

What!?! BP fixing prices??? No way!?! Gas stations never fix prices...I love it when you're at an intersection with 4 gas stations and all 4 have the same prices.

If you check your math, you'll see that getting 3% back after saving 8% doesn't actually yield 11% savings. It's really 10.76%

A more noticeable effect is when a store offers an additional 20% off their 50% of marked price. Many consumers think they'll save 70% percent. Wrong! The price is only 60% off.

$100 worth of gas will cost $89.24 instead of $89 it looks like.
