I live in Maryland and I got them to give me a deal about a month and a half ago that wasn't listed. It's 19.99 for comcast internet cable for 12 months. I think the advertised promotion is 3 months for 19.99 then regular price thereafter. This 12 months for 19.99 was an old deal but i got it anyway. It's worth a shot. I did it at a Comcast kiosk at the mall. I do have to pay a few bucks extra for modem rental.

Apparently for current Dish subscribers in Virginia, Comcast offers a package bundling digital cable package with broadband for 65 /month for 12 months.

Worth trading the dish for

for norcal, i think you can get cable for $12 a month. well, in the bay area at least. i don't know if it's considered basic cable, cause we get like 2-36, then starting from 61 onward we get some (including BET, OXY, comedy central, etc)

Just to chime in with the deal I got after complaining how they (Comcast) only have good deals for new subscribers. They eventually "found" a deal for me: $65 per month for broadband (silver) + digital cable. About $30 less than what I was paying before. They gave me the deal for 16 months. It pays to talk with the CS people and see what package deals are available.

Does anyone know how exactly these "bundling" deals are not anti-trust or gouging or something?

They have digital AND analog blockers, and also now use network addressing for computers, router, modems, and some cable boxes. If you remove this blocker (aka Filter), and/or bypass their other protections, you are 'intentionally' commiting a crime.

This is also similar to how those "Free Digital Cable!" things advertised in spam work. Digital cable boxes "phone home", using a certain frequency band for upstream signals. By installing a special filter, it prevents them from phoning home. The digital boxes will still allow ordering and descrambling PPV events and the like, and attempt to report the ordering of such back to the cable company, when they next connect back. However, the thing that people don't realize, is that the cable company can monitor if any of their digital boxes aren't phoning home anymore, and they send someone out to investigate.

Cable signal theft is illegal, whether it be passive or active. I don't personally suggest doing either.

Received a phone call today about this promotion.
It sounds pretty good if you want to lower your monthly fee.
This is what they tried to offer me: $5 basic cable for 8 months, $15 off each monthly broadband bill.
Unfortunately, I'm paying annually subscription so "discount" can't be combine.
Oh well, I was about to sign up too, dang it.
