Didn't you know? All German cars are affected by the Electrical Gremlins. Do you know why? It all goes back to the 15th century AD, when German military forces conquered the goblins and trolls and forced them into exile below ground. Eventually the goblins and trolls complained about unemployment now that Pillaging and Mischief were outlawed, so eventually the German government built labor camps underground and established a fair wage system.
For hundreds of years the goblins and trolls were quite happy, as they were gainfully employed and quite content keeping busy in manufacturing. Of course no outsiders knew of their existence, and because they stayed underground even the German people forgot about them completely. Gradually the Germans gained a reputation for remarkable engineering and efficiency--all attributable to the expert goblin engineers and delicate craftsmanship of the trolls. Everyone was happy with the fruits of their labor, and things couldn't have been better.
But then the Industrial Revolution came along. Goblin and troll wages kept going up over time, yet their productivity remained constant (they have a longer lifespan than humans, and don't reproduce often to keep from overcrowding underground.) As demand for output grew, the Germans switched to mechanized labor to meet their needs. Suddenly the goblins and trolls faced an unemployment crisis. Few in the German government cared--in fact most had forgotten about their existence. The goblins and trolls even fought amongst themselves for jobs, and in 1918 a war broke out underground (the Germans were busy with WWI so few noticed.) Nearly the entire population was wiped out, and only a few survivors remained. These goblins and troll survivors intermingled and gave birth to a new race, the Gremlins. These Gremlins inherited their forefathers' problems, however, and in 1967 they unanimously agreed to abandon their treaty with the German government (by now everyone had forgotten about their existence.) Mischief and Mayhem were now the chief occupations for a Gremlin! Since the Industrial Revolution had caused so much hardship, these Gremlins decided to target German factories and cause all sorts of mishaps. Especially automobile factories. Eventually they mastered the electrical technology that had put them out of work in the first place, and used it against the Germans.
And that is why today German cars are plagued by Electrical Gremlins.
