Directing was awesome, acting was fresh, and the soundtrack is pretty good too...listening to it now. I hope it gets some more mainstream exposure before the year is out.

I was excited to see it, but was disappointed after seeing it this weekend. It was okay, entertaining. Many parts dragged on, and the whole thing about connecting his knowledge of the answers to his life story didn't really work that well. Too contrived.

how the hell did he know the name of the criket player?!

He knew who not to trust.

Was Frieda Pinto nude? If not, I think I will pass.

dude, there are NO nude pics of Frieda Pinto.

she's a star in India. Any flesh = her career is over.

besides, the teenager that played her was hotter :Q
<Puts on flame suit for uh-ohs remarks>

my money is on there are nudes of here out there, but not publically available. India does have that whole 'casting couch' routine that starlets here endured and probably still use.

However, if they do ever leak it's the end of her career in INDIA.

this. besides, ricky ponting is still playing which makes it unlikely he set a record like that yet.

Typical Bollywood melodrama now wanting to gain Hollywood acceptance. Plot was far-fetched and the acting was mediocre. Of course, everyone of Indian origin has logged into IMDb and has cast and unbaised rating of 10/10.
:disgust:

Good thing I had free tickets.

Does not really look like any Bollywood film I have ever seen, though admittedly I have seen very few. Really only the dancing in the credits reminded me of a Bollywood movie.

uhhhh the director is british, dont think he really is pushing some sort bollywood agenda. as far as plot goes, not sure if you were expecting a documentary or what. it really seems to me that the only bias here is coming from you!

There's nothing Bollywood about the movie. It wasn't made by the Hindi movie industry in Bombay, and it's not a musical. Bollywood makes movies about fair-skinned rich people who live in fake Western style houses, wear jeans, and dance spontaneously to music, while completely ignoring the bleak, depressing widespread poverty of India in its own backyard.

I haven't been back to India in a couple of years. Every Bollywood movie that I've seen is fake. Everything on the Indian satellite TV is fake. This movie is the most realistic depiction of India I've ever seen. For the first time in years, I felt like I was back. Great film, though quite disturbing at times, especially the maiming of beggar children, because it was - sadly - so real.

WOW great movie. I mean I am VERY impressed. Might not be my favorite movie ever but definitely in my top 8. Great movie, I loved the visuals, I loved the very accurate depictions of India, I loved the way the story was pieced together and told. I even liked the way they did the subtitles. Just a great movie. Great great great movie.

I thought it was a great movie. I saw that and Gran Torino recently and think both are equally awesome.
