Hey all!

I've been away for quite a while... saw the recruiting thread and decided to check in.

Things at work have kept me away from the forum, although I have checked in on you guys occasionally (it's hard to quit the TeAm cold turkey )

I see that while I've been away all my assimilted PC's have pushed me over the 10,000 WU mark, funny enough that's only good enough to rank me 88th

According to Smokeball's page, we passed the French while I was away... great news!!! And Starfire is still behind us.... more great news!!!

Anyone wanna clue me in as to what's been going on the past six months

BTW, New Year's resolution... To be a good TeAm member again and visit the forum more often... also to get the XP2100 TBred/nforce2 combo I just ordered crunching some WUs!

Oh yeah one more thing.... MORE MORE... MORE....

There was a pretty big shake-up of SETI@Home in the last six months as cheaters were zeroed on various teams, including Bandai, who had joined Team Starfire and left again several times, from what I understand. TS still has their game face on, however

S@H is supposedly going to end within a year... or not? I'm not sure what the latest is on that one. A successor project is planned that will use the new Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing. Interesting fact: the other day I checked S@H's daily computational output and it was just under 50 TeraFLOPS. The largest single supercomputer in the world, the NEC Earth Simulator in Japan, peaks at only 36 TFLOP */me hands them the red second-place ribbon... nice try, guys... ...hey, wanna rent some time on OUR supercomputer...?
