Saw this on Dailytech (I know I know)

http://ww2.saygus.com/v2/

Huh, this phone is pretty much what I had hoped the OnePlusOne would have been. Visually it's a little bit unbalanced with the larger top bezel but it's a 5" inch phone with 3GB of RAM and gobs of microSD storage (in addition to 64GB built in).

It even has the front facing speakers that I liked about the Htc One and it's an unlocked developer phone. It's not super top end but a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 is still pretty fast for a phone.

Am I crazy or does this seem to tick almost every box?

Those camera specs...21MP back camera with OIS. 13MP front camera with OIS. Dedicated shutter button.

That's intense.

2 microsd slots and the ability to boot off of one them? Nice!
And only 67mm wide to boot.
The design isn't that striking though, but some compromises are needed if it has everything else that you want.

Unfortunately, their first phone (Saygus V1 VPhone) ended up being vapourware, so I'm not 100% optimistic. That being said, I signed up for their pre-order mailing list...

We'll see what the initial reviews of the final [non-prototype] models are like.

At first I thought it was a little chunky, but it's about the same depth and weight of my iPhone 4S, all be it with a much bigger screen. Solves the two biggest flaws with the OPO, by adding a removable battery and expandable storage.

All depends on what the pricing is. At $350, the OnePlus One is hard to beat.

Be a shame if it does end up as vapourware.

News reports state that it'll likely be around $100 less than flagship devices...

I'm guessing it'll be in the $600-650 range. I very much doubt it'd hit OnePlus One pricing.

Still, if it actually hits all the specifications as advertised, I'd be willing to pay the "$100 less than flagship" prices.

Hopefully there will be good xda/dev support

If you haven't made at least two flagship models, and you haven't shown a history of giving Android updates further out than a year from release, then I simply am not going to buy your device.

Android has gone commodity. The OnePlus is a sign of things to come. So every phone will be a superphone with low margins. Software support, hardware quality and a decent warranty is what is going to seperate devices.
