SB Live! 5.1 X-Gamer and Mp3+ $50 No PM or Rebate

I just came back from walmart in Norwalk, CT and they had a bunch of Soundblaster Live 5.1 X-Gamers and Mp3+ for $50 on clearance. These were retail packages and they seemed to have a decent amount of them. Don't know if this is a local thing or not. Either way this is little more than what the OEM SB Lives are going for so if you can't get in on that staples deal this might be a potential good deal for you.

Just a small word of caution: Creative will at last be coming out with their Live! replacements this year. These are rumored to have 24-bit/96 kHz decoding for all channels, and maybe a Firewire port. Who knows, they might also have advanced hardware processing for EAX 3.0, etc. So it is possible that Creative has told its vendors to clear stock.

the $50 rebate is valid only at staples. You could go to staples and pricematch it then you coudl use the $50 rebate and get the thing for free! this is pretty hot

I have seen from other threads that Walmart clearances are not nationwide.

However if you are lucky enough that your Walmart has them, sweet deal.

By fall this year. I remember receiving an e-mail from them saying the new line would be called the Audigy series. They may have change the name cuz I personally think the name kinda sux.
