This is different thing we are talking about. Leave this auto (should be 1.831v). There is a similar name option called"internal pll overvoltage" which only has 2 sub-options: disable/enable. Once you do that, you can o/c you 2500k/2600k like no tomorrow.
You may have to flash to 1.40 to do this. But 1.40 does have some issues with hard drives. Hope you can try and report back.
What does this do? I had to change the long draw power max to get my 2500k to stay at 4.4 when stressed but, apart from the multiplier and the vcore (1.28) those are all I touched. I'm not sure about pushing the core any higher speed wise but I want to make sure it's as stable as possible so if this setting helps I'm all for it.
I'm still running the shipped 1.10 BIOS as it seems be working fine.
stay whereever you are now if you are happy. The internal pll overvoltage gave me asrock ext4 5.2g 2500k on air, but the vcore is not you will like.
I just had my first oc success with my Asrock Extreme 4 w/ 2600k.
No FTP software installed yet so pics to follow later.
4.6GHz 1.29v 66C after just over 5 min of OCCT
started at 4.8@1.35v but failed OCCT
went to 4.6@1.35v with no issue and then backed volts down to fail and then back up to 1.29v pretty steady with room.
All I did was use the auto OC in bios and set volts maually. Also upped RAM to the Intel setting which is 1600 9-9-9-24 1T

Here is mine: 5.3Ghz - BCLK 99.8 unfortunatly, i didn't realise until after the screen shot so i'm a few Mhz off 5.3Ghz hehe. That was benchmark stable by the way, i doubt it's LinX stable, but i didn't bother to try i just jumped into some Prime and 3DMark vantage
What're you doing - putting that chassis in an ice floe?

Will it clock to 5.0Ghz on 1.38v? Be a shame to kill such a good chip at 1.48v.
Oh... i5 2500K on an Asus P8P67 Deluxe, haven't even touched memory OC's yet, but running corsair vengeance 1866 2x4GB sticks. 9 10 9 27 at the moment.
No it wouldn't be very nice to kill it . I don't run that 24/7 though. At the moment i'm happy with 4.5Ghz @ 1.26v in bios (1.236 under load in windows). My load temps are 48-50c so it seems like this is a nice sweet spot.
Asrock Extreme4 2500k
Did you update your bios or the tuning utility? My tuning utility reads the mb temp as -1c so I'm assuming there is something wrong with the software
Load temps of 48-50... what kind of cooler?
It's watercooled. You think they are too high?
No, the temps sound great. I'm hitting mid 60's (sometimes as high as 67) which is great with an A70 running at 1600rpm and well within my comfort zone. If you were running air cooling I would have been drooling to find out what cooler you were using
I did it for the thrill of cracking 5Ghz, but i wouldn't run it like that 24/7. Maybe in 2/3 years when the chip is nearing replacement =D.I'd run at 1.4+ volts to get ~5GHz. Live on the edge people!
