SB Platinum vs Hercules G.T. XP, who wins?

I'm looking to buy a new soundcard for Klipsch 5.1's, and wanted to know which soundcard you guys think would win in the battle of the beats? (that includes movies/games too!) I've heard the Herc is better, but haven't read any reviews to back that claim up...

I've never owned an Audigy myself, but I'm familiar with them, as two friends have them. So far I am not impressed at all, but Advanced HD might change that (regrattably, I haven't had a chance to play Jedi Knight II with Advanced HD enabled yet).

The Audigy has several of the same shortcomings as the Live does. Sound quality is just noticeably better, and compatability/stability is a little better, but that's about where it ends. The Sensaura engine is awesome (GTXP and Turtle Beach Santa Cruz cards both feature this for 3D positioning), sound quality is good, and it has all the features the Audigy does except for Advanced HD, for a lower price (half that of the Platinum eX). Don't let the Audigy's 24-bit or 100dB SNR claims fool you, I've yet to see a single test where it could actually accomplish that feat.

i have the klipsch 5.1 and the GTXP. they're great together. i don't have experience with the SB Platinum though so i can't say. but everyone seems to reccommend the GTXP. jump on over to the Klipsch.com forums and they'll help you out quite nicely. as for Justin16 i think. he seems to have all the answers.

I suggest the GTXP since creative has been know of have driver issues and the price for the GTXP is great. With the new 4.10 drives from hercules, I have had no stability problems and can enjoy 6.1. That was a really nice upgrade going from 5.1 support ot 6.1 support for FREE!! (Thanks Hercules)

Thanks guys... Yeah, the big question is how many new games will feature Advanced HD? And is there a way to add your own mod for a remote control for this? That would be pretty neat...
