I'm excited as well, but not because I'm going to buy SB haha.

I want to see how good it is to see how it forced AMD to adjust. BD isn't coming till later next year. I can wait till the middle of next year, and if it forces AMD to be aggressive to the point that it has to keep selling processors at a loss just to match price/pref, it means I can get a great deal on an AMD system.

Performance is important, but I honestly feel any mid range performing system is enough for what I do. I'm still doing fine on a X2 6000+ with 4 gigs of ram and a 8800gt (although I might upgrade that to a gtx460 depending on if i can score one for about 120), and will be willing to jump up to either AMD/Intel depending on the BD launch and price/performance comparisons between the different platforms.

Ya a person waits. But what if BD is faster than SB . Won't be NO cheap pricies . Than If it comes out in july-sept. Than Intels 22nm IB will be here in late 4th qt. 2011. The waiting game has a 2 edged blade.

Unlike most here, I've already decided that I'm going Bulldozer. Performance or not. Buying a new board everytime intel sneezes is getting old. At least with AMD, I'll have a better chance of the AM3+ board lasting a few chip cycles

Think again not going to happen.

Since you didn't give any reasoning for your response, I will give some.

Since the next generation Bulldozer ship is planned to have a IGP integrated on die, it will almost assuredly have a new socket.

However, I believe that there is a high-end CPU on AMDs roadmap that does not include an IGP on die, and that has a better than average chance of being on the same socket (AM3+), since AMD has a history of maintaining socket compatability as long as possible. The only reason I could see them not doing so with AM3+ would be if they feel that dual channel DDR3 isn't enough bandwidth to keep the nextgen cores fed.
