*SB16 emulation* (using Live value) on WIN2K....how!? (for old dos games)

It used to work perfectly under win98. Now i cant figure it out!

hey wait a sec...actually i havent even installed the creative lab drivers ..using stock win2k drivers...Hmmmm....

I cant recall if the "creative labs driver package" includes Dos support drivers for 2k....does it?

How are you guys out there emulating the live?

uhmm--dont think u can play DOS under w2k ever.
you can with win9x--but not with w2k

Wolfenstein is about as DOS as one can get. Granted, not all DOS games will work, but a lot of them will.

There is a program called soundfx, that will emulate the sound blaster in Win2k. It seems to work pretty good in the few games I've tried it with, and it should work for all DOS games. It is a commercial program though.

SoundFX 2000

NTCompatible has a link to a free emulator (VDMS or something), but that didn't work very well for me, only the Roland and GM emulation worked.

BTW I have a MX300 with the beta Win2k drivers installed.

VDMS is great. After I made a pif for ems memory. Master of Magic sounded better than it did under Dos, but then I have a much better sound system. Ran flawlessly as well.
