SB16 in Win2k?

I can't seem to get this to work for the life of me. I know it's not exactly listed on the HCL for Windows 2000, but Windows has drivers for it when you show all compadible hardware. Creative doesn't have drivers for it either, which don't seem to help. Has anyone done this, or got it working?

It works fine with the drivers that came with Win2k. Don't know why your doesn't.

My SB16PNP wouldn't work correctly either. It would install fine, but the sound would cut in and out all through windows.

my SB 16 ISA in my ICS machine was detected by Win2k and installed
works fine

My SB16-PNP ISA works brilliantly.

...and it is in the HCL.

Try fiddling around with ACPI (or whatever it's called -- sorry it's late), in the BIOS, and if that doesn't help, try to manually assign it an IRQ in the BIOS.

Yes, the SB16 PNP is definitely supported in Win2k, the install CD has the appropriate drivers. Most likely it is a configuration problem of some sort, check Device Manager to be sure there isn't an IRQ or DMA channel conflict (and, being ISA, certainly not trying to share an IRQ with another device). If not, remove its entry from Device Manager, reboot, and let Windows re-detect it and install the drivers.
