higher upload means better latency for gaming and p2p.

Not to mention superior newsgroup servers.
Unfortunately verizon just isn't in my area in ca so SBC seems to be the only choice for me. Anyway, any comments on my last post about getting rerated in a business area?
thanks

I called them up, and they refused to offer me a deal. I said I would cancel, and they offered me $20 a month. So I took it. My contract would have expired in September, but now I have a new one going until July of next year. I'm debating whether I made a smart move. Previously I was paying $27 a month.
you're a sucker, the 19.95 was an old promotion of april. you should be on 14.95 for this current promotion. I'm on 29.95 and debating whether to rerate to 24.95 or not. dunno if it's worth the hassle. already got it down to 58 a month including dsl service, dont think their too happy about lowering it anymore. if my memory serves, they will try to make you pay more say you need all distance crap, that's like another 35.00 on top of 15.00 standard telephone service fee. 49.95-15.00= 34.95. then again the taxes add up even more so it's more then 50. they'll get you to pay more one way or another! haha.

Yes you should.Originally posted by: MisterCornell
[What should I do now? SBC said they would give me the new price, but they didn't. Should I call them up and demand that they give me a $7 credit for the last two months?

Hi, didn't wanna say anything in your post about your sig. but man why can't you understand, he was put in this situation by Clinton you know that and he is getting the blame for something that should have been done over 10 yrs ago. we were attacked and we are retaliating maybe not the best way but the only way we see fit. we can't sit back and just let this go on we had no choice just like WW2 when Japan attacked US should we have sit back and just let Hitler have his way no we were provoked and we retaliated. Yes we are in tough times but it's not Bush's fault he was handed a bum ecomomy and a war that couldn't be helped. Yes they said alot of reasons why we went over there but we have to look at the whole picture who else is gonna try to slow down terrorism nobobody but us cause we are the strongest most capable country on earth. I don't like some of Bush's war ideas but what else was he supposed to do? oh and about gas prices just don't buy cars or trucks that are gas hogs and won't have to fill up as often.People just need to understand that times change and so does the economy.

Even if you're poor enough to qualify for benefits, I think the lowest priced phone line is $30-something after taxes and fees.
Yes there are ads for $20-somehting alternatives but they all end up being $30-something after taxes and fees.
EDIT: $12.95 Metered landline. Only 20 Phone calls per month though.

For the record, SBC's low income charge is $5.44 per month. Folks need to get their facts straight.

I've been happy for the first year and just called to have them extend my contract for a year and lower my price to $14.95 in 10 minutes, no hassle at all.
