So what would be the monthly fee for Dish Network? Are you saying it would be $34.95 - $5.00 = $30.00? I couldn't find it on the link? Also, would that price include the $4.95 fee for the second receiver?

mandms7,
It would be whatever Dish package you get at their going rates, minus $5 per month. Then you would also be getting DSL for $30/month. The only thing about this plan is that you have to buy the Dish hardware it seems like, which I'm not sure that I want to do.

Has anyone done this successfully with a STATIC IP account?
I will jump on this once I know someone who has succeeded in getting a lower rate while KEEPING their static IP.

Thanks in advance,

Speaking of discounts on broadband service, didn't I read that ATT broadband internet cable customers suppose to get a "discount" of something like $5 if they also subscribe to cable TV service?

static ip accounts are $15 extra w/ 5 static ip addresses... i don't need it and its a lot just for static ip i think... directvdsl used to have static but can't have that anymore... but anyway i think u just have to add $15 whatever plan u have

LOL, it's 4 years old now.. since I have had the same IP for this long, i don't feel like changing all my DNS records..

That's great, but this part sucks:

For new, first-time DISH Network residential customers only. Social security number, credit approval, valid major credit card and 12-month commitment required.

I've had DISH since the I-Like-9 promotion.

Just got the deal with a 4 year old account and static IP. Went from $49.95 a month to $34.95, $200 termination fee if less than one year. $50 fee if I move and keep SBC DSL, but I would lose the static IP in that case.

Hi,

So you kept your static ip with the new price?

Thanks,

Listen junior, the question was not directed towards you.
I must be absolutely sure that I do not lose my static IP if I do get a lower price.

Next time, post something constructive.

And check Dell site.
They're promoting SBC/YAHOO DSL, and they're giving out 50.00 GC.

general DSL question...
i have ADT installed on the same phone line that i will be ordering DSL on...but their site and others claim you cannot do self install if there is an alarm using the same line. it says you MUST have a tech come install it ($200). i dont wanna pay some "tech" to install it if i can do it myself and really not have any type of conflicts between the two services. is it just an extra filter or something that they add? what is so difficult or different from installing on a normal line?

It's pretty clear from his post he kept his static. Ergo, your follow up wasn't "constructive."
