This is real strange. I ordered the faster 1.5Mb/256Kb for $59 per month. But on my bill I get a $20 per month credit and it says the credit is good for a year?? No complaints here.

actually, they have another promo if you have pacific bell as your phone carrier... they can take another $10 off... so... i am getting 1.5mb/256kb for $40 a month... hoping they can knock it down another $5

SBC 1.5/160 (I'm on a remote terminal) for $29 per month

Started in 01/01 with $39/month contract, went to $49/month after that (month to month), signed another contract in December for $29.

I am on the same plan also. Was paying $49/mo for more than a year, finally I only pay $29/mo.

Thanks for the explanation. Hey, $40 is a good price especially since I expected to pay $20 more ;-)

i think you just need to call them and tell them you want the deal and they will ask you if you want another one year contract... then they'll drop the price i believe

Last year, I called to switch my existing service to the $29 plan. The next day, I had no phone service. Two days later I had no phone and no internet service. It took them 10 days to fix. 2 months later, they shut off my internet service because their system though I was a new subscriber that hadn't logged in, even though I had existing service. I spent 9 hours being shuffled around on the phone in one weeks time because no single person could figure out how to fix the problem. I finally told them to cancel my whole account, internet and phone service, and they forwarded me to someone who took ownership of the problem and got it fixed. SBC/AMERITECH IS SUCK!

I'm in Oregon using ATTBI and paying a buttload at $45 bones. I wish they would have that neat 6 month plan for 19.95, but good deals don't last forever ;(

Yeah, I ordered the deluxe package (1.5d/256u). Setup my SBC DSL, and noticed that my speed was maxing at 30k. GAH! I called them, and lo and behold, I can only have up to 384d/128u. Unacceptable while playing Everquest. If I didn't catch it, I would have been stuck in the year contract.

I'm one of the directvdsl migration customers, paying $49.99/month. when I switched to SBC, it was $39.99/month, which was the deal at the time for their 1.5/128 service. about a week after my service turned on with SBC, their price went down to $34.99, so obviously I called to see if they could adjust it. turns out the directvdsl migration customers were supposed to pay only $29.99, so that got adjusted immediately. on a digital remote terminal, dslreports.com speed test shows about 1.2mbps on average.

very similar to my sprint pcs deal, going from $50/month to $30/month on retention plan. yippee!

really? i am a migrate from directvdsl too, but they didn't give me any extra discount... they said i have to sign up for some pacific bell telephone plan which i did to get the 29.99.... actually then i upgraded to the deluxe plan so its 39.99/month for first year which made everything SO MUCH smoother ... i am going to call and see if they can give it to me for $34.99

It doesn't seem to be listed on their site, but if you call, they'll give you the details.

I just signed up for DSL for the first time. I'm really far from the CO, so I hope it works at any price! Could you folks with SBC tell me what my new email and web site domain name will be? Will it have yahoo in the name, like www.sbc.yahoo.com/~ornery2345 and ornery2345@yahoo.com, or what?

Edit: I answered my own question about the email. It looks like it will be Ornery2345@sbcglobal.net. Can't figure out what the daughter page address will be, though...

yes, I just called them and they switch me over and even credited me for the months I missed.
The number to call is 877-722-3755.

Btw - you have to tell them that you were with directtv!

peace
