I think it does. My $50 a month from before included the tax and surcharges, so it was like $47 and $3 in other stuff.Originally posted by: DEFIANT1
No, it does not.Originally posted by: Tommy2000GT
Does the $29.95 month include tax and other surcharges?
Its actually fairly close to what you should get. 768 kiloBITS per second, divided by 8 to get kiloBYTES per second gives 96k. Take out 10% for overhead (yeah overhead is usually lower) and you get close to 90k. So 80k is giving him about 700 kbit service. He probably could have requested them to check the speed though, and gotten it up a tiny bit, but maybe he was a ways from the CO.Originally posted by: Johnbear007
80kb for 768? Thats pretty darn slow for 768Originally posted by: elkinm
I sighned up one year ago for the 768 plan for $30 dollars. It was faster then dial up but at only 80 KB donload max

I am intersted in signing up for this for my apartment with 6 other roomates, just a few questions if anyone can help me out that would be great,
What would be the best option to split this up for 6 computers? With 3 being upstairs and 3 downstairs.
I want to sign up under dell to recieve the rebate but the do not have the basic plus which is 384-1.5 where as if I went directly to SBC site they have it listed. Both are $30 a month
Thanks

If you are having any difficulties with tech service, or would like your line uncapped, post a message in the SBC forum at dslreports.com.
They have 3 SBC techs who work full time fielding customer issues there, and have had success resolving a speed issue (from about 300k download to about 650k). It took a while, and required several tech visits to my home, but the forum tech (toaster) hung in there with me and made it happen.

This hardly matters, but SBC used to be Prodigy is a litte incorrect. Pacbell used to use Prodigy as an ISP is more correct. SBC provides the pipe, Yahoo is the provider.
