I bought the TDK VeloCD 16x from BB several months ago for $65 after 10% coupon and $50 TDK MIR. Just noting that the TDK $50 rebate was one of the quickest and easiest I've ever received. ($%#&*% Maxtor, Viking, SMC, Chrysler, Phillips, KDS)

Check out the new issue of Car & Driver. They did a test of radar detectors. Valintine (sp?) 1 came out 1st of course (costs $399) but another one came in somewhat close. I'll post back if I find the mag.

It's all about those verbatim's on page 27.

I have a whistler I bought from CC on the black friday sale, and it works pretty damn well. Only thing is it gets set off by lots of unnecessary things like towers, stores, etc. Even under the "city" mode. If you drive on the highway/interstate a lot, it is well worth it to keep johnny law at bay.

Also, if you have never played HITMAN, I suggest you pick it up for $20. It is a really great game IMO, better than max payne :Q ! (it is the same style as max payne.) If you like 3rd person action games, you must get it.

Anyone know what the fineprint for the $50 od DVD with the WD hard drive purcase is about. I am about to go pick up the 60 gig wd for 129, but may be interested n the 80 w/dvds if it is a good quick deal.

mr. tanner, everybody won't be able to get those drives... sam's is woefully understocked and out of TEN stores in my area, i only found ONE drive
versus ONE bb had TWELVE of those 16x LGs...
plus 24x is a bit of a misnomer, most drives really run @ 16x (or lower sometimes), at least at the start of the burn...
