Scanning with my Print Server...

I recently purchased a D- Link DP-301U print server and hooked it up to my all-in-one epson stylus cx3200. The setup was easy but then I realized that I have no way of utilizing the scanner on the printer without unhooking the usb cable and back into my computer. Is there any workaround this? Can I at least setup the scanner on one computer? Would I have to purchase something like this: .Two Port Manual Share Switch just to have one wire running from the printer and 2 wires running out to the print server and a single computer in which the scanner would be utilized. Any or all help would be greatly appreciated

It is quite common that the Scanner of All in One Printers does not work in such a setting.

By default scanners are not a Network Hardware.

Unless Epson made it specifically to be Networkable you are out of Luck.

thanks..thats what i figured...i guess ill have to return the print server and just run a computer as a server.

I've been wondering if there's a way to split a USB connection, so that the printer is attached to the print server and the computer. That would solve the problem.

Edit: Oh never mind, I just reread the original post.
