I'm laid off and therefor I don't have much spending room. Also IRS or Secretary of State or something like that sent it to me. I just call them IRS for short as they are both taxes.

Ironically, if you owe the IRS a lot of money, you can negotiate for a smaller settlement. But for $78, probably not.

He can let it accumulate to 10k, then negotiate to pay 30 cents on the dollar.

wouldnt it make sense to work a crappy job for the 7.25 minimum wage just to get by until you get a new job? you can continue interviewing, just ask to work a night shift or something. or if you have to work day, just leave if you have an interview. what are they gonna do, fire you? you can at least make some money doing that and pay off some bills.

If you made a lot of money before and are getting Unemployment (at least in IL), you can only make up to 1/2 your unemployment benefits before they begin being reduced.

troll or not, it's not that easy to just find a $7.25/hr job anymore.

My brother put out a CL add for $8-10/hr to pack and ship for his company. He received about 100 legitimate apps within two days. Many were ex-professors, engineers and even a few lawyers. Times are REALLY tough for some people right now.
