ok. I have a Sceptre 22" display. Was cool at first, but I am definitely not a fan of the TN panel, other than its response time.

Im probably going to sell it. What I want to know is how much ghosting will I honestly see out of an S-IPS panel? def dont want alot, I play COD2 and will be playing Quake wars, Crysis and Fuel Of War when they all hit the shelves.

I should have gotten this monitor at Costco, but they wanted an extra $80 bucks over the other stores. You live and you learn I guess.

Any input great appreciated.

Also, Should i go down to a high quality 20" Dell, of save for a 24"?

Sorry to hear that. I kinda felt the same when I got the 22" Dell, that after the initial shock and awe of a 22" wide screen wore off, I'd be disappointed with the color reproduction, image uniformity and viewing angles on a TN panel.

There's no readily accessible 24" S-IPS panels afaik. There are some 23" but they're pricey and cost more than the 24" panels. Unless you can guarantee yourself an A04 Dell 24" I'd stay away from it. The BenQ is probably the best choice of the 24" and its still less than $800. The Gateway is better than the Dell A03 for gaming although it certainly has its own problems and does some things worst than the Dell. I'm still tweaking the color settings on it and although they're much better, they're still not as good as the Dell's out of the box. There's less ghosting, tearing, and input lag on the Gateway though. You can walk into any B&M and buy/exchange it and if you can get the 12% Rewards Zone coupon to apply (its a YMMV situation), it comes out cheaper than the Dell.

If you're looking at 20", I think you're still in a lottery situation with the Dell and getting an S-IPS. At that point I'd probably just look at the NEC WMGX2 since most everyone who has used one agrees its probably the best LCD available for gaming. There's also the new Samsung 226BW that's been getting a lot of buzz, but its still a TN panel. Good luck with your decision.

Yeah I had this exact same panel, I am returning it today to costco, I got it for xmas. I was liking it at first (my first LCD at home) Then the viewing angles really started to piss me off, I couldn't slouch in my chair anymore, and see everything perfectly. And the color reproduction was a bit off. I just got in the mail yesterday the 24" BenQ LCD and I would have to say its the best LCD I have ever used / seen. (I use Dells at work). Wow the color reproduction is great, and no ghosting. Granted for the extra 2" and the great viewing angles and color it cost me double what that 22" Sceptre cost.

You wont see any ghosting with a quality S-IPS panel.

I've played every type of computer game and I even use my XBOX 360 with my 2007wfp (S-IPS) and I have never seen a hint of ghosting.

I'm thinking about selling my 2007wfp, PM if interested.

I was under the impression that BenQ FP241W(Z), Dell 2407WFP and Gateway FPD2485W were all S-PVA panels. That's why I'm sticking with my 20" S-IPS NEC LCD.
I want my next LCD to be a GLOSSY 24" S-IPS panel. Are there any? Suitable for gaming; with great colors, low response time (6 or faster) and small input lag? If you know any, let me know.
I've heard NEC will release a 24" LCD in the GX2 family, this summer I believe; NEC 24WMGX2, that's what I want!

If I could marry any company in the world it would be newegg! Just talked to a customer service rep and they authorized an RMA for my monitor! Wow, I love the egg!

Im definitely getting the Ben Q from newegg!

newegg>all

About the BenQ 241W:
Just read the official thread over at the hard forums and they are indicating that there is no lag, ghosting or anything that might make a person dislike an LCD for gaming!

Plus its got an HDMI port too! So....I just might be getting Dish Network when I get out on my own into my own place!
