I had thought about getting this one, but I don't like the idea of only 1 year of warranty. The reviews on newegg are all favorable. I'm probably going to wait until planar gets back into the game with another good monitor and great replacement policies.

I actually have one. I swear by them as they rock. The 12ms is very very nice for alot of Fragging. I play Unreal and Joint Ops and it is crisp and clear (DVI). If you are put of by the brand name, just note that a fortune 500 company uses Sceptre in their product line.

The picture quality is crisp, clear and comparable to most high end brands. Definitely worth the cash. Don't worry about the brand name since there are only a few real LCD makers anyways. The rest just rebadges them. Hope it helps!

I have two X9G's (one older, one nagaII). They are excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Sceptre. Maybe not a first tier company but their X9G's have been around a while and they are great.

I have one and I love it. But anyway, I find the 400nits to almost be too bright at some time--which i guess is a good thing. Also, the speakers are rather lacking, but I think everyone already knows that about LCD speakers.

Now here's the big question for those of you that own this, how horrible do games look at 1024x768? My video card wouldn't be able to handle the default resolution very well in most games i'm afraid.

Yeah, games like battlefield are geigh ass because they don't support 1280x1024; for gods sake, Tribes I does. Anyway, with the right graphics driver settings it looks fine, theres a little streching but nothing too noticeable. Reguardless of what resolution your games are set to, they override the windows settings so like in splinter cell. Windows is at 1280 but the game only runs in 640. The graphics driver will automatically upscale the image to fit the screen. I know for nVidia cards under nView Display settings-->Device Adjustment-->Device settings, and then there are 4 scaling and centering options for different resolutions. Also, in dealing with games, texture quality, ansitropic filtering, and antialiasing are more important than running in 1280 as opposed to 1024. On a final note, if youd rather the screen not be streched you can select that option too

I have this LCD. Wife got it for me as a Christmas gift. I love this thing. 1280x1024 on a 19" LCD is a better match for my eyes than 1600x1200 on a 20" would be. As mentioned above, I actually found it a little too bright, and had to turn it down some. I've never seen any ghosting or afterimage, no matter what I've played. Get this LCD, even if you don't buy it from TigerDirect. I have no idea how 1024x768 would look, though, as everything I've put on it runs 1280x1024 and I have a GF6800 which runs fine at that res.

I've bought a few things from them in the past....including this monitor. My only complaints are expensive shipping and a long, as in 2-3 day wait before my crap is shipped.

Sceptre is an OEM for Dell, they make some of there laptops for them. Don't know if Dell uses any of there LCD's though. They have been around for a long time because of Dell etc...

I used to sell there CRT's and they were always top notch.
