Schedulling backups without password in WinXP

Is there a way to not use a logon password to schedule a backup in the WinXP backup tool. I do not use a password to log in my machine, but this software needs an account with password to totaly function...

BTW is there a better soluction/software to schedule for my home backups.

No, it will not run the scheduler without a login with password. It says you can leave it blank, but if you look in the help files, it tells you it won't work. When you first installed XP, you had to enter an admin password, so just use the admin account to run the backups instead. I did this and it works just fine.

and, is it possible to rename automaticaly a new backup, so I will have some *.bkp files when the schedule runs, instead of just one that increases in size...

I'm not quite sure I know exactly what you mean. If you are wanting it to backup to a different .BKP file each time instead of overwriting or adding to the original, you can just make another schedule under a different name and schedule them to run at alternating times (ex. DAY 1 backup1.bkp.......DAY 2 backup2.bkp, etc...).

I have 3 schedules running for my backups. 1 for system state, 1 for critical files, and 1 for all my game saves, so you can schedule as many as you would need....

Ok, but I want to backup every friday, and I want to have every backup preserved, like after a month I would have:
08022002.bkp
08092002.bkp
08162002.bkp
...
and the program would rename it automaticaly...
