I can think of plenty. Getting out of bed in the morning is enough for some cops to assault you. Looking at a cop the wrong way. Making eye contact with a cop. Avoiding eye contact with a cop. Being in the vicinity of a cop. Fitting the description.
There are DOZENS of examples of people who were simply minding their own business only to be assaulted by a cop.... You can't be this naive.

If the child deserved and needed it yes. The problem with many kids running around like animals is that there's nobody man enough to lay a hand on them.

No one was beaten down by any cops or teacher/administrator at my school as they were only called in the event someone was in violation of the law. Many people who had minor infractions would rather take a few licks from a paddle than have their parents find out as their punishment at home would be far worse.
