School debt

I graduated with 80 grand in debt, but my trustfund kicked in (the trust was setup for after college graduation or 30, whichever happened first, or something along those lines). I used my trustfund to pay off my debts and had just enough left over to put some gas in my car

About $8,500/yr for a six year Doctor of Pharmacy(PharmD) program.
I'm in my 5th year now, so total debt after graduation is expected to be about $51,000.
They're all "subsidized" meaning I pay no interest and can take my sweet time repaying them.

I use work, plus the little $2,000 I get in scholarship every year. Mom's also helping out.

Thinking of accepting $28k in "unsubsidized" loans for my final year, and if I do, expected debt would be that $28k plus the $51k above.

As a reference point, some people in my class here will be graduating with ~150k loans from pharmacy school alone (which doesn't include the 3 or 4 years undergrad most of them did with ~30k loans).

It took just under $6,000 in student loans to get my BS, thank you cheap state tuition and plentiful federal financial aid (both of which no longer exist). I also had some scholarship money and did a lot of work/study in my junior & senior years.

Tuition is now three to four times more than when I started college and financial aid is a joke so how are half of you kids graduating with only $0-$5,000 in debt? Are your parents loaded and paying your way or are they the ones taking out a loan like in that evil Chase commercial? ?I want a dorm room too daddy.?

0, I'm grateful that my parents are currently covering the cost of my higher education (up to a BS, beyond that, I'm most likely on my own).

when i'm finished with undergrad ill have about 20-30k :/ ....sucks when u cant get ****** for grants cuz ur grades werent good enough and your rents (who dont pay for any school) make too much money to get it from the gov. oh well

I gave 3yrs to the US Army in exchange for the Army College Fund & GI Bill. Roughly $35K over 4yrs of schooling.
