Buy cheap AR-15's. It's the most common mechbox design. Lots of interchanging parts, in general. Worst case, maybe you spend 300-400 on three guns, one or two break, you assemble the working bits back into functional guns, perhaps with upgrades.

I would highly recommend grabbing 6.01mm aluminum barrels (madbull) for everything. The expensive stuff will be brass and generally be smoother inside, but the madbulls are very much worth it for their cheap prices (IIRC about 30-40 a gun).

For a budget gun, I'd recommend G&G. Their cheap shit is better than Echo1 or CYMA's cheap [chinese] shit.

I would agree with going G&G. Also, don't use the cheap, usually colorful .12 gram bb found at most sporting goods stores and Walmart. The lowest good quality bb weight is .2 gram. They are close to $10 for a bag of 4000 so it's not like their price is much higher than the .12 gram anyway.

gearhog had a deal recently for the Sig Sauer GSR 1911 airsoft pistol for $9.99 so I bought one. It came yesterday. Not very impressed - seems really cheap plastic. Does shoot pretty fast though and gets good reviews online.

It did come with 100 yellow BBs.

So many different BBs out there, not sure what kind to buy.
