You've met every Scientologist member??? You know they all act like the ones we've seen? You say all Christians all don't act like that so it's fine to say that all Scientologists all don't act like the ones we've seen or heard either.
IMHO - Scientology is cult like. Christianity has many groups that teach in different ways. You have people who abuse it and brainwash people (cult), then you have some that teach nothing but good. You can't say Christianity as a whole is inherently bad because of one sect or set of people.
But the practices of Scientology are based off one Science fiction writer with no history or proof or . A lot of things that are coming out about their "religion" has a dark side. They are very secretive about things. There is only one group/following of people in Scientology.
Hubbard wanted Dianetics to be considered science. I don't think it was started as a religion. It evolved into it, but his original basis was for science. Hubbard self proclaimed revelation that he had discovered the human soul.
I don't think he ever intended Scientology to be a religion. It made money and that was that. The followers worship him (a mortal) as much as they worship their higher calling. As the sole source of the Scriptures, he has no successor. In addition, no one else is allowed to alter his issues. They are to remain intact. Only Hubbard can revise them.
So the entire "Religion" is based on the writings of one guy from the 50's and his word is it. Doesn't sound like a religion to me...sounds like a cult.
IMHO.
