Question - are sci/fi channel movies censored for violence/gore? They're showing some tacky yet fun horror movies that I'd tivo but it would be pointless without the gore.

Haha. They're extremely censored. A lotta the crappy movies they show are straight to dvd. Anything remotely gory is cut out... That's pretty much the truth for any cable channels like tbs, etc.

WHAT THE HELL IS THE POINT??! grrr.. FX and other basic cable channels get pretty graphic so why can't Sci-fi??

Oh and sci fi does show Firefly. They air it sometimes during the weekday marathons from like 7AM to 4PM. There's just not enough good sci fi that you can just play it all the time....

I seen "13 ghosts" today (for the whole 5 mins before turning off tv) and there was some violence. Basically a huge ghost guy brutally beat a man by hitting his head against the wall then finally breaking his spine against a pole. There was lots of blood but wasn't "chunky"

I agree op, everyone, and I mean everyone agrees. Except whoever is running the scifi channel.

I will not ever get how bad horror movies translate to scifi.

Also, i thought immortal was great, don't know how I missed it until recently. Saw it airing late night after i got off work. Another one i kinda liked was Riverworld. Maybe not for the quality of the movies, but for the whole concept behind them.

It's basic cable though. They all ready have pretty good shows like stargate and BSG. Compared to other cable channels like discovery - the mythbusters/dirty jobs channel I mean - they're not doing too bad...

Sci fi all ready has some good old shows like twilight zone, x files, star trek. it's not doing too shabby imho.
