'Rip off' might be a little strong considering it brings the total cost to $107. Sure, there's probably some profit-taking in there, but the total price still seems pretty hot, especially given the furor (pardon the pun) over the similarly priced LE card.

Does anyone have a guess as to what comes with the card? Any chance the DVI --> VGA dongle is included?

Anyone have good/bad experiences with enpc.com? Resellerratings.com was mixed, but the older posts appeared to be the most negative.

Does anyone know for certain whether this is an original 8500 or the 8500LE that they're selling on Newegg? If it's an original, I sure hope I can find out by tomorrow morning so I can cancel my order and get this one! No sense in getting the newegg LE one if this one is already clocked at 275/275 AND has Hydravision (which is mentioned in their add). Their pricewatch ad says:

"ATI Radeon 8500 64MB ORIGINAL 275MHz ATI part #100-431001 -THIS IS NOT 8500LE OEM STUFF- "

They emailed me back and said it was NOT an LE. I also asked about the dvi adapter, but I guess they overlooked that question. After reading some of those reseller comments, I think i'm gonna pass, but its still damn tempting ...

As was stated above, most (if not all) of their bad ratings were given well in the past.

This reflects in the AT Reseller Ratings, where they have a perfect score. (albeit with only two votes)

I was thinkin of getting a new video card to play dvds on my computer and to record tv shows...would this card do this? I was gonna get one of the ATI AIW cards for that. Any of you guys know the difference between the AIW's and this card? Thanks.

ATI AIW has tv tuner (which you will need to watch tv) it also has video in (which you can hook it up with a vcr and use the vcr tuner) it also has tv out (which the 8500 also has). That is basically the difference between AIW and regular ATI cards.

If this is the retail box, the DVI-VGA adapter should be included. Too bad I just purchased one of these for ~$135 on EBay (Goddamnit)... Stupid f*cking swap-meet...
