SCORCHING: Toshiba HD-A2 HD DVD player $99 at Best Buy

Went to the Portsmouth, NH store, got the last one and it was open box, so out the door 89.99 with 2 dvds +5 free through the mail. Hallelujah!!

And I had already gotten the xbox player last week with Heroes + 2 dvds, but I didn't really want Heroes or the King Kong pack-in. This one can replace my old flaky upscaling dvd player (I have the HDMI-less 360 and no vga input on my TV, so I would have kept it around), and I don't need the 360 engine noise to enjoy it. Win-win!

It showed up as not available for purchase online, yet I was able to add it to my cart and place the order for delivery. Showing up as "In Process" with an arrival date is 11/6. Not holding my breath, but would be nice at this price...

It is pulled, it's the A20 that's $399, not the A2.

Anyway, I arrived at the Best Buy here in La Crosse just in time to see someone getting the display model packaged up. Damn!
Guess I'll check Wal-Mart tomorrow morning if that works out.

I was able to order it when it was available for ship, but it does not look like it went through properly. The order details page shows "Order in process of being fulfilled; Usually ships in null - null days"

I was told at my B&M Best Buy that it had been discontinued. No luck for me. I'll have to try Walmart tomorrow morning.

Got mine at Wal Mart just now for 98 bucks. They had a bunch saying the sale didnt start till 8am and all the people that were there at 6:30 left and just didnt come back

OK got this on bestbuy.com yesterday for instore pickup for $99, didnt see the 2 free promotion so I called and they said I should be entitled to 2 free plus there should be "Bourne Identity" and "300" in the box.
I dont see any sign of those in the box, and the store had no idea what Im talking about. the rep is going to investigate why I didnt get them in the box and call me back on Monday

I placed an order through Bestbuy business. They just called to tell me that the HD-A2 was out of stock. They substituted the HD-A3 with the 2 free movies for the same price.

They haven't called me yet

I hope they call me and tells me they'll sub the A3 instead of the A2
