I agree with bunker as well. Way too many screwups in this trial along with so very little actual evidence presented. They will take this to appeals courts and they will have a lot to work with to get the verdict overturned. I also think that if he should be found of anything involving the unborn son the most he should possibly be found guilty for is possibly manslaughter. I like other board members can't see how you can be found guilty of murder of a child that was not even born yet.

Thank god...hope he gets the death penalty now. Good thing he's white and couldn't pull the race card like OJ Simpson.

Wow. He got busted. Like we knew he would. He got found guilty. Like we hoped he wouldn't. He had the BALLS to do what most married men don't have the BALLS to do:

Go thru with the threat:

I will kill you, bitch. You have pissed me off that much. No, I'm not kidding. Your birth certificate will be a minor entry in the annals of your short life.

He got caught though. I don't quite feel the way the rest of the world does about this. Very few of you (on this forum anyway) could possibly understand this.

Many men, and very few women, have been pushed to the edge in a relationship. Sometimes, there really isn't much worth going forward for. Some men G&L. Scott is one of them.

If you disagree, that's your opinion.

Sorry dude, but the last thing in the world this guy has is balls. It takes a wimp of a man, a true coward and sexually challenged sociopath to plan and kill your wife because you still think your sixteen and need to find out if you can get laid every once in a while living the single life. On top of that you kill her while she is defenseless and instinctually drawn to protect her unborn child over herself. If you ask me perhaps he wanted to be stuck in prison with a bunch of men, perhaps he will feel more comfortable there.

He will pay dearly for his crimes while sitting on death row. If he's smart, he'll hang himself or get himself shot, somehow.

He IS truly a PUSS, though. He let himself get taken into custody and tried in THE MOST LIBERAL, woman-loving state in the union; California.

There are a few angry men on this forum; some of us have far less concern over public opinion than others. Scott Peterson may be a murderer, but he's got nuts in my book.

I can't imagine what a woman could do to me that would make me want to kill her.

Go out on me with the entire homeless shelter? Oh well, I'd mope for a while, but come on. Life goes on.

MichaelD, I hope you've gotten beyond the hate that seems to have consumed you.

There comes a point in life where certain emotions, as related to certain situations, fail to have any meaning or impact. They simply evolve into emotionless decisions; a thoughtless, accurate reaction as opposed to an emotion-filled, thought-centric, decision making process.

Still, I think it would have been a heck of a lot easier just to leave her than to kill her. I mean...sure, you leave your pregnant wife and she takes half of what you own (maybe), and then the child support... but really its a small price to pay when now he'll either be spending the rest of his life in the shadow of Bubba at San Quentin or dying a murderer on death row...

I'm not sorry he got caught. I don't think Lacy Peterson was so horrible that the only way out was to kill her (and their child), tie her with homemade anchors and drop her in the bay, then try to skip town by dying his hair and heading for the woods.

SP does not deserve respect or kudos from anyone. It was premeditated and he showed not even the tiniest bit of remorse, I hope he burns for it and anyone else who would commit such a heinous crime.

I wonder if he'll still have that silly grin on his face when he hangs up his suit and tie and goes into the Pound Me in the A$$ Prison ??

Well. Here I go again.

You're RIGHT. He did NOT show any remorse, nor did he admit to squat! All the denial pleas were his lawyer talking.

Everyone knows he did it. That's my point. It's no secret. I really wish Lacy's life would've been dissected like Scott's was during the trial. We had his lover testify as to how many bowel movements he had per day, and at what time. I would like to see "Miss Perfect's" life dissected as well. I'll bet she nagged him to death and didn't let him rest his head for a moment.

He was obviously an unstable character and she lit the fuse. Bang.

Not an excuse. He will pay. Justice will be served, etc, etc. But damned if he didn't say "The hell w/it. I'm gonna do it."

Is there any benefit to him confessing to the crime at this point? No one knows for sure what actually happened or why he did it except for him.

Does anyone know why juror #5 (the doctor/lawyer) was removed? I heard it might have been voluntary because he couldn't take it.

It's a sad day in the US when acting weird is evidence enough to get you convicted of murder.

Do I think he did it? Yes.

Do I think the state even came close to meeting reasonable doubt? No way.

Were you at the trial? Did you see all the evidence? Obviously the jury did and found him guilty.

I have to agree with this.

I really think scot did it and should fry but i do not beleive the state proved its case. i also do not think that he got a fair trial.

they also dismissed jurors that were for a aquitall.

They didn't have any direct evidance even people who were in the court every day admit that.

The jurors did thing they were NOT allowed to by law yet the judge said it was ok.

while i think everyone thinks he did it. I DO not beleive he got a fair trial or should have been found guilty on the amount of evidance talked about.

Scott Peterson's lawyers failed to persuade the jury that someone else killed his pregnant wife.
  • Prosecutors presented 174 witnesses and hundreds of pieces of evidence, from wiretapped phone calls to videotaped police interrogations, depicting Peterson as liar...
Area officials pleased with trial outcome
  • Prosecutor Robert R. Stephenson said circumstantial evidence can be just as compelling as direct evidence.

?It?s the rope analogy ? all of the facts being intertwined can be just as strong as any other type of evidence,? he explained.

?That?s why it takes five months to try the case. You want to believe you can do it quicker but they are leaving no stone unturned largely because it?s circumstantial. They are building it thread by thread by thread until they have a strong rope.?

Campbell said he is glad the jurors realized it is proper to convict someone on circumstantial evidence alone.

?Often people think circumstantial evidence is negative,? he said. ?It can be very conclusive when there is enough of it.

?For instance, if there was one piece of circumstantial evidence ? like Peterson fishing in the area ? that?s not much. But when you couple that with the attempt to flee, the lies he told his mistress, the outright lies he told on network TV, there is no other way to explain this.?

Latanich said there were many minor points that the defense had to account for but one fact in particular was hard to explain.

?The one piece of evidence that was damning was that he went fishing 90 miles away from home in a place he never went fishing before and that?s where her body washes up,? Latanich said.

Campbell said he was glad the jury didn?t misinterpret the concept of ?beyond a reasonable doubt.?

?A lot of jurors get caught up on proof beyond a reasonable doubt,? he said. ?There is always the possibility of some doubt but any doubt is not the standard.?
