Just like boofing, if the text don't say it, it didn't happen!Listening to Kav it seems like as long as the constitution doesn't explicitly say anything in its text about specific rights then states can do whatever they want. This portends poorly for lots of things.
I really appreciated the argument of 'well that stuff happened a long time ago, can you tell us why we shouldn't just overturn it outright?'Got to say that the new conservatives on the court appear less concerned with preserving the court's appearance of neutrality than I expected despite using the word a lot. Figured they'd make it appear more anguished and thoughtful but nope. Seem slike a slam dunk for overturning.
Given Kavanaugh's reasoning stuff like Obergefell certainly appears quite vulnerable.

-Kavanaugh is saying that some of the Supreme Court's most celebrated decisions overruled precedent, and overruling Roe and Casey will deserve celebration because it restores the court's "neutrality" and returns the abortion debate to the states and Congress.
-The case is submitted. The Supreme Court will overturn Roe v. Wade in June 2022. Half the states will have complete or near-total bans on abortion within six months
looks like states will be able to ban it
I was listening to some of the hearing driving to and from a couple of appointments. The conservative justices are intellectually bankrupt. They will use logic to overturn Roe V Wade but then use that same logic to uphold other rulings they agree with. It's all a game to them with women's lives and human rights.
Like make it harder for minorities to vote. I get it.Listening to Kav it seems like as long as the constitution doesn't explicitly say anything in its text about specific rights then states can do whatever they want. This portends poorly for lots of things.
Those aren't real people, they were referring to the will of the proper people. But funny ACB and Kavanaugh saying the will of the people. Like aren’t polls always favouring the abortion rights?
Pretty sure even 16 weeks was being floated as reasonable by the presenter, but that just won't be considered oppressive enough. The current age of viability is 24 weeks. The record for youngest age for survival is 21 weeks.
Would a good solution be lower the age to 21 weeks?
Let advancements in science take care of the problem.
How about we tell anti-choicers to pound sand and stop letting them move goal posts on us.The current age of viability is 24 weeks. The record for youngest age for survival is 21 weeks.

If we follow voting restriction logic, maybe we can make it illegal to provide water to doctors performing abortions.Next up is probably criminal prosecution of those that seek or procure abortions and anybody that knows/assists. Going to see some real loony stuff happen.
