FWIW Hammurabis code covered most of those and is 1500 or so years older then the bible

fwiw that's not noteworthy since almost every culture would have to have some form of golden rule and don't kill and lie etc, since otherwise they couldn't get any where. Entire argument is senseless, since it takes for granted that these basic ideas about ethics were revealed instead of invented/plagiarized.

Start again. Rob tard says it's based on the christian ethics. Someone points out, "derp, what are christian ethics based on?"

End of argument. So glad i could be of such a help on this forum. Thanks guys.

Can anyone explain the logic presented below by Fred Hamic, probate judge of Geneva County, AL?

In Alabama, two officials announced another method of resistance: If they couldn’t stop same-sex marriage, they would stop marriage itself. They said they would no longer issue marriage licenses to anyone, gay or straight, ever again.

“I will not be doing any more ceremonies,” said Fred Hamic (R), the elected probate judge in rural Geneva County.

“If you read your Bible, sir, then you know the logic. The Bible says a man laying with a man or a woman laying with a woman is an abomination to God,” Hamic said. “I am not mixing religion with government, but that’s my feelings on it.”

They need Governor Wallace to stand in front of court houses to block people from getting married.

and you can also see it, in person, at the Louvre.

I'm not sure where I need to go to see the Ten Commandments. For something so important--this purported claim that all man's law comes from God--one would think this thing exists. Or is certainly more tangible than a stone tablet chiseled by some Babylonian king generations before the god tablets.

Red herring.

no it isn't. You wanted to start a history lesson about US law and it's close relationship with religion.

I want to make sure you address the history of US law, and the defense of all our past evils vis-a-vis the little black book.

It would be highly disingenuous to ignore that.

LOL this is getting good! that's it ban ALL MARRIAGE! wooo!

What’s more, Caldwell said, he had read the text of the decision. And he’d found no specific line saying that Louisiana had to obey it.

...and that is a state Attorney General. Stop electing drooling idiots to important positions, folks. It does you, and your state, no good service.

Yes officer, I saw the speed limit sign. But the sign didn't say I had to follow it.

Checkmate.

well except for the fact that you sign something saying you will fallow all laws on driving when you get a drivers license. one of those rules is obeying the speed limit signs.

Is there some sort of thing that AGs do, like uh, a swearing in ceremony to obey the laws of the land when they step into office?

curious.

Wow.

Texas governor and former state attorney general Greg Abbott seems to have forgotten about the whole separation of church and state thingy.

No court can overturn natural law. Nature and Nature's God, hailed by the signers of our Declaration of Independence as the very source of law, cannot be usurped by the edict of a court, even the United States Supreme Court

then they find a different clergy or go before the court.

I don't know about the US, but in EU, the religious aspect of marriage is entirely OPTIONAL. You always go to a court to legally get married (this is what this is all about) whether you want to make this into a religious ceremony is well up to you.

Also..speculating that a gay couple would want to get married with a religious ceremony, I am sure there are 1000s of churches, priests etc. who don't have a "problem" with this.

same in the US. wich is why i said find another clergy or go to the court. they will merry you in between court cases for free. you take in the paperwork and they sign it. boom! it's done and far cheaper then a "traditional" marriage.

I do not know. but i would think so. in fact i would be really suprised if they didn't take a oath to uphold the law and such.

Have to admit I'd prefer a world where marriage wasn't even a legal distinction and any number of consensual adults could engage in a civil union (barring proven abuse, incest or other criminal activity). But these douchebags are just taking their ball and huffing off home because they don't want to play with "fags". It's straight out of a 3rd grade schoolyard.

When your opposition to the government is philosophical as opposed to legal, and the government isn't backing down, your only real option is secession. Been there, done that, wouldn't happen today anyway, I'm not sure what these morons are planning to do.

Ahahhaaa! That was funny!

Gawker has the actual clip up that CNN has pulled. I haven't watched it yet but I read that it's about six and a half minutes of discussion on the butt plug & dildo ISIS flag...lol!

“If you look at the flag closely, it’s clearly not Arabic,” CNN’s Lucy Pawle admits. “In fact, it looks like it could be gobbledegook. But it’s very distinctively the ISIS flag.”
When you stand for nothing, you will fall for anything...lol!
