this is hilarious, they just won the right to marry each other and think a proper celebration is to fly a flag with huge dildos and butt plugs on it

an ISIS flag would be less offensive than this
Yes, it is hilarious.

No, an ISIS flag would NOT be less offensive than this.

Awesome.

Lesbians are hot even when they are statues. lol

Then I don't think they are truly conservatives, although I know most will vehemently disagree with me.

I've always viewed the religious right as an unfortunate subspecies who's views are unfortunately assumed to be held by all conservatives.
Social conservatives - the breed of conservatism that embraces big, powerful government as long as it's THEIR big, powerful government.

I haven't been a fan of marriage, straight or gay, since I was around 20. It seems ironic that gays who are mostly left leaning would support such an old fashioned conservative institution such as marriage. Or rather it's more amusing to me. And I'm a leftie. I think it would be more fun for a couple to live together without marriage.

As an example I use to support this look at Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell. Still together after decades without ever getting married. Yes they were both married to others before they got together but still they've done well without marriage to each other. Of course as Goldie Hawn said it helps that each of the two in a relationship "have their own money."

So they have the advantage of each being rich which can lessen the chance of breaking up over money. But I would hope that relationship success is not just for the rich. Would make a good survey or sociological study though, to find out if it makes a difference.

Please. Gays just want equal rights in all things, insofar as that's possible. Marriage is just one of them.

I've never known anybody who broke up over money but plenty who've fought about it afterwards, particularly when they have children.

This is about equal RIGHTS here; the discussion whether marriage is an outdated concept would be an entirely different one.

Why should people based on their sexual preference be treated differently? THIS IS what this is about. As of now, yes we have this institution of marriage which gives partners responsibilities and rights...and (for me) its logical this must include all people, away from idiotic pseudo-biblical interpretations like that a marriage is only valid when it's between a man and a woman.

A few pages ago someone said the most likely next step is probably that "they" demand equal protection for housing and work, so that someone cannot be fired or denied renting because of their sexual preference. (Not sure whether this post was meant sarcastic or not)

Because...OF COURSE the next logical step must be exactly this, or would someone seriously want to support someone couldn't renting an apt or work for a company "because they're gay"... (When EVER did sexual preferences play a role on a job application or lease???) Seriously people...

Legal implications?

If by paying the "marriage tax penalty", then yes. WELCOME TO THE CLUB GAYS! Enjoy your stay with the awesome privilege of paying more tax. CONGRATULATIONS!

more like,

-saving money on car and homeowner's insurance
-not having to draw up complex contracts and wills to ensure that your estate is left to your partner
-being able to make medical decisions for each other without needing to draw up contracts
-sharing health insurance plans
-not having to worry about custody if you have kids and one parent dies
-being able to get citizenship for your partner if they're from a foreign country
-survivor's benefits for couples where one is in the military/police
-tax issues if one is a stay-at-home parent
-getting to take family leave for a sick/injured spouse (not allowed for "roommates")

and yes, I guess the marriage tax penalty for a few well-off couples filing jointly.

I've met Jindal and he is a very intelligent man. Not that it makes it any better but I'd bet a weeks pay he is simply pandering to the national conservative base for his recently launched bid for president.

Regardless, I am truly saddened that he would make such a dumb statement like "get rid of the courts" while at the same time talks about upholding the constitution.

If he's pandering, then he has no backbone and central compass. If he's not pandering, then he's a moron.

Did it ever occur to you that maybe he just doesn't want to read 3 paragraphs of psychobabble.

Of course it didn't. Why after a lifetime in the acquisition of understanding would I resort to a level of childish imbecility that that can address real knowledge only as psychobabble. Were I to consider a point like I made with some valid criticism I would be able to logically address and amend it. I'm not a know nothing have nothing real to say jackass like you and waggy are.

Of course he is pandering. Look at his stance on evolution. It is hardly anything new for him to pander to the GOP base.

lol.
He warned in a statement Sunday that any clerk, justice of the peace or other administrator who declines to issue a license to a same-sex couple could face litigation or a fine.

But he says "numerous lawyers" stand ready to defend, free of charge, any public official refusing to grant one.

And when they lose? Is he going to pay the civil fine for these clerks, justices of the peace or other administrator?

I know for a fact that he isn't a moron, he's actually a very well educated man, he's thoughtful and usually rather sensible. OTOH he, or someone on his "team", once or twice a year comes up with some really retarded shit for the sole purpose of pandering.

Keep in mind I'm from Louisiana, Jindal is the most competent governor we've had in a long time and he has yet to be charged with any sort of criminal offense.

This. His old college professors even wrote him letters saying they knew that he didn't buy that bullshit and he knew better. Fortunately the bill didn't really effect public education in any sort of major way. Private schools should be, and for the most part are if I understand correctly are, free to teach whatever hokus pokus they so choose.

Jindal is by all accounts, a very smart individual. So is Gingrich, and so is Paul Ryan. So is Rand Paul. The only difference between those 3 is that Rand has slightly larger balls to hold to his principles more often than his chosen party's bias.

What all of them have in common is that they belong to a party whose base is filled with ignorant nutbags that can't get enough big government corn subsidies, bibles and guns, yet bitch and moan all day about paying evil welfare subsidies to people....a great number of them whom would rather not raise the poor babies they are being forced to raise in the same state owned by the nutbags.

Oh yeah, Ted Cruz is also smart as fuck...but he's gone full fucktard. I don't think there is any turning back for him. Sad.

anyhoo, Obama has had a good week:
--ACA
--Gay Marriage
--criminal prosecution overhaul
--sings Amazing Grace, takes a country to church
--Lindsay Graham now 3/4 out of the closet, a new ally creeps forward. (seriously, anyone else seeing that?)

He earned it

it's not like this is exclusive to gay people, though.

here's a giant flag of Kim Kardashian giving a guy a blowjob at a music festival -- https://i.imgur.com/KQffSiX.jpg

That is also inappropriate. I didn't mean to imply it was only gays. It just that these "pride" parades are so much in your face and that thing they have in San Francisco has to be the worst I have ever heard of. They should be arrested from the pictures I have seen. Is it in the Folsom Street or something... ?? Horrible!

Pride parades are actually pretty tame and people do bring their kids. It's not like everyone is just fucking on the streets. You really don't know what you're talking about. I mean I was actually in the parade here last year and didn't see anything that justifies you getting in such a wad.

Now if you want to truly get offended come to Folsom Street Fair or the Dore Alley Festival.

I realise that Some Pride parades are tamer, but that Folom Street Fair shit. They should all be in jail.

Here's the hetero version of that dildo flag:

You can pretty much call Big Johnson the flag of Myrtle Beach. "sexually offensive" in public is not something exclusive to gays, you know.

lol, look at this one:

Neither of those is comparable to what goes on at the Folsom Street and lots of other Pride Parades....

I also find those rather offensive and juvenile.

See how easily you can reject what offends you. You need to learn to relax and not take offense at anything. Your bigotry is completely safe, shielded by a wall of impregnable egotistical self certainty. You are completely immune to rainbow colors in your black and white-striped prison world.

I am not offended. Regardless of how much you would like me to be. I just think you have nothing to say but a bunch of useless words strung together trying to berate somebody. You always post the same crap...

Why, because their values are different from yours? That's mighty fascist of you.

Righties criticize the left for trying to ban things they dislike, e.g., the Lee flag. You provide a great example of how this also applies on the right. You try to prohibit things that offend you rather than growing up and taking responsibility for your life. Don't want to see (whatever) on TV? Change the channel. Don't like abortions? Don't have one. Don't like gay marriage? Don't marry someone of the same sex. Don't like the antics on "Folom" (sic) street? Stay away. Be an adult, take charge of your life.

As my .sig says, if you never see anything in your community that offends you, you aren't living in a free society.

Actually, you describe yourself perfectly here. You stick your stupid nose in those parades so you can feel superior in your disgust. And why.....because it gives a sense of importance to your meaningless life. You spend your life looking for shit you can jump in. I am the mirror you must look in to be free. You're not offended because you have no idea what you feel.
