the difference is the fingerprint reader that is not available on the lappy with 17" screen.

I own the DV7t.... and 2 wouldn't buy it if I had to do it over. The single WORST thing is the trackpad. No physical buttons, you have to actually FLEX the bottom left and right corner (PUSH HARD) to left or right click.

I also don't like the 900 resolution and wish I had opted for 1080 with some other brand.

I also wish I had opted for a i5, as with this i7 I get about 2 hours TOPS with the extended 9 cell battery.

The laptop itself is rock solid and has a fantastic build. It's a great performer too. I just wish that they had designed it a bit differently as it's 'ok' to use, but with some minor changes (as I listed above) it could be an all time great machine.
