Seems to be slim pickings for screen protectors for the Iphone now. I'm looking for a nice anti-glare/anti-fingerprint screen protector. Saw Scosche had some available right now; http://www.scosche.com/products/sfID1/210/sfID2/212/sfID3/366/productID/1987 and was wondering the reviews on other Scosche anti-glare products.

Please don't make this a debate thread about having a protector vs not having one. I just want the best recommendations from the throng.

I can't speak from experience about the iPhone 4, but I have a Steinheil Crystal screen protector on my Droid, and it's the best I've ever had. I literally cannot tell it's on, and the screen looks almost clearer with it than without it. I haven't tried the anti-fingerprint one though, but they do make one. Looks like they have them for the iPhone 4 here:

i did want the anti-glare ones, but i get the feeling that it'll reduce the clarity of the retina display by a lot (i didnt mind it one bit on my 3GS cause it has a much lower resolution). this time i went with the glossy ones that came with my incipio feather and havent looked back.

i am a big fan of power support's stuff. i've tried various no name cheaper alternatives, and power support makes by far the best films in terms of quality.

ecretanchitman is correct. I tried out an anti-glare protector on my screen and it looked horrible. Stick to a smooth/crystal style screen protector. This is coming from someone who had an anti-glare film on my iPhone 3G, so I do know the difference. Then again, I have very good eyes and I get annoyed quite easily, so your mileage may vary!

I have a Zagg Invisible Shield on my iPhone 4. It looks wayyy better than the anti-glare protector. That being said, I also have a Best Skins Ever skin on my MacBook Pro and I must say that the quality of the film from BSE is noticeably better. It's not so sticky to the touch, smoother, and the adhesive is better. The price is also about ONE THIRD the cost of Zagg! The only reason why I went with Zagg is because BSE didn't have a skin available on launch day. When my Zagg skin gets messed up to the point where I can't stand it, which will be soon, I will be replacing it with this skin from Best Skins Ever. That's what I recommend to you

For your MBP, how would you say the skin compares to a traditional hard plastic case? Lighter, but less protection?

Hard cases tend to leave marks after prolonged use. The advantage is that they help a little more with bumps and small drops. Even so, a true drop will damage your laptop either way.

As for scratch protection, the BSE skin does a very good job. It also adds a little extra grip to the machine. All your common scratch areas are totally covered. To scratch the machine, you REALLY need to do something weird. That being the case, nothing will help you

Overall, I'd say a hard case is worth it for an iPhone since it's a lot more prone to drops. As for a laptop, it depends on your clumsiness. I'm very happy with the BSE skin. The only difficulty was aligning the giant piece that covers the back of the LCD. Took me a while, but it turned out GREAT. If you get one and want installation tips, just buzz me over PM

Yea, it's definitely sticky. Leaving it on a flat countertop or similar surface causes problems. After leaving my iPhone 4 on the counter for half an hour, it creates an air bubble when I pick it back up due to a suction-cup-like effect. It's too gooey/sticky. I really wish I had something else :-/

Dont know why there is so much hate for the Zagg invisishield. Yes it is sticky when you first get it installed but after about a week of use mine is almost as smooth as the PowerSupport film I had on my 3GS.

my experience also...installed the Zagg on Monday, it was a bit tacky at first, much better on Tuesday and now on Thursday it is smoooth. Protection always results in dulled sensations, right?

I had the Zagg full protection on my HTC Pure. It just felt too sticky to me. And I did take a good two hours to put it onto my cell phone. It looked incredible once I finished and left it alone overnight. But it just felt like I was holding onto a sticky lolipop whenever I reached for it.

No.

The Zagg is overrated and overpriced.

I picked up the iFrogz anti-glare screen from Best Buy this weekend and put it on my phone.
I love it. It does not seem to wash out the screen as much as I was lead to believe reading other reviews. I like the way that my finger seems to slide across the screen. This with the Griffin Reveal case I got with my phone makes for a great combo. Although I may look at getting a Luxe Lean case this week. My Reveal case seems to give off the same halo effect other cases have when the flash is used. But as this thread is about screen protection, I can honestly say that the $18 I invested was worth it (comes with three screens)

It receives my patented  Buddy Christ  award.

Power Support and BoxWave Anti-Glare or ClearTouch protectors are what I recommend.

What I want to try is one of those privacy screen protectors where the screen is visible only at certain angles.

I have the BoxWave ClearTouch installed on my iPhone 4. It is very clear (I can't see it unless I go out of my way to find an edge), fits great, and doesn't seem to affect the screen sensitivity or the feel of the screen. I've been using BoxWave screen protectors for years on my phones and they have always been great.

I love my Zagg. I had one on my 3G, and now I have one on my iPhone 4. Hell, I bought it before I even bought the phone (thanks to a 50% coupon). Does it add a tactile feel to the phone? Yes. But, honestly, that's one of the reasons I like it -- to keep the damn phone from slipping out of my hand. I've never dropped my 3G, not once in almost 2 years -- and I like to think that's partly due to the Zagg.

Now, I do have one on my MBP as well... I can't say I'm thrilled about that decision, though. Sure, it protects it well -- but it does seem to attract grime a bit easier, I find myself cleaning it more often than not.

Sure, they're a bit pricey -- but, with all the coupons out there, there's no reason to pay full price. I got the "maximum" shield (which includes protection for the borders/trim as well) for ~ $15.00 shipped. You can get 10-50% coupons simply by signing up for their iPad contest, you can sign up once per day per email address. Took me 3 tries to get a 50% coupon.

serious question, I had my iPod Touch 1G in my pocket almost every day for 2 1/2 yeard with keys and change and other metal/sharp objects. And When I sold it recently the screen didn't have a mark on it. I turned it off and looked from every angle and it seemed brand new. I understand wanting to protect an expensive piece of hardware but is it even possible to scratch the screen? I know my BB Pearl got a big ass gash on the screen the 1st day I had it in my pocket. My Touch seemed indestructible though.

They definitely scratch and it seems to be hitting it at just the right angle or something. I keep mine in a clean pocket and don't have issues, but my wife throws hers in her purse and it was fine for almost a year and then one day.. a HUGE gash across the screen. So I'm not sure what changed, but she didn't do anything differently.

For me it's not so much protecting the screen from scratches as it is to reduce the glare from the all-glass screen. I hate glare. I also hate fingerprints. Another reason why I wanted an anti-glare screen.
