i had it on my old monitor but when you plug this monitor in it and try to change the settings it maxes out at 1024 X768 and it looks fuzzy, why wont it show correctly?
I am using an nvidia fx5200 w/ latest drivers windows xp sp2 the monitor came w no software.

LCD's display best at their native resolution.

Going higher or lower will end up in fuzzy or blocky

check in your device manager and see what the monitor is coming up as...also check the refresh rates...you may have to back it off a bit to get to a higher res

Hmmm! LCDs do not have "refresh rates." Seems to me your problem in not being able to set the 1280 x 1024 is because of your video driver.

Try finding an .inf for the monitor and install it. That should inable all the resolutions supported by the monitor, and max out at it's native res.

just which LCD are we talking about anyway? Goto the manu's website and download a driver from there.

try going into device manager and changing the driver manually. See if there are any other options.

I suppose you could first try to run Windows Update, sometimes the drivers show up there. If not, and you really can't find one than maybe you can install an inf from another company with similar specs.

An inf is a driver file for monitors. Really all it is is a text file that is formatted in a special way to tell Windows what resolutions and such are supported by the monitor. I (we) call it an inf file since it usually comes with that extension such as [monitorname].inf

look around the internet for other LCDs with similar specs and try those INF files.

Also there must be a phone number or something somewhere in your box/manual for tech support or for warranty claims....try calling and asking them for help.

Can't you just override it? Generally if you dig around in the advanced display properties, there's somewhere to just set the resolution/refresh to modes that your monitor doesn't say it supports.
