Screen Saver won't hide task bar in XP ?

When my screen saver opens in my Windows XP it doesn't hide the task bar at the bottom of the screen. It just started doing this a few days ago. Any ideas what my be causing this?

Taskbar locked? "Keep task bar on top" selected?

It's not locked and keep the task bar on top is checked.

how about auto-hide for the task bar? I'm at a 2003 machine right now so I can't test these my self.

Auto hide is not checked but it has never been checked. It just started acting like this a few days and no changes have been made to the settings.

Have you rebooted at all since it started happening? That just might fix the "glitch"

Yes I've rebooted but to no help.

what screen saver are you using? does this problem also happen when using the screen savers that came with Windows?

Also what video card are you using, and have you tried updated/differant drivers? Is there any chance that the problem started as the result of a video driver update?

Thanks for everyones help. Turned out to be my popup stopper hanging and not allowing the screen saver to hide the task bar. Went to another brand of popup stopper and all is well. Thanks again for your ideas and help.

Just use a different browser like Opera or Firefox and you won't need a pop-up stopper running in the background
