Screen Stays Blank On Start Up

I bought a new case for my computer and let my brother have my old case, which he promptly wanted to switch his old, old, old computer into. I switched everything into the new case for him, but I get an issue that I have had in the past (normall easily solving it thanks to these forums). I usually just clear the CMOS and get on with my life, however, this motherboard is different.

It is older and doesn't have jumper pins, instead it only has the soldering points which you are supposed to short out in order to clear the RTC (Is that the right order of the letters?). The motherboard is an ASUS P2B-VE. I checked the manual and it says to short out the pins with something conductive. I tried a penny and some copper wire, but to no avail.

The fans turn on, hard drives spin, cd drives light up, cpu power on fine, but nothing is displayed on the monitor.

Is there any other solution that you guys maybe able to think of?

Nothing comes to mind. I have 4 pc's, and my oldest one, a socket A motherboard, did the same thing. Everything powers up, but nothing happens. I swapped out the chip and nothing. Took everything off the motherboard and it doesn't even beep. Just sounds like a dead motherboard.

This is a very typical problem. Try the bench test method by swapping out parts. Every DYI enthusiasts has done this. Usually it's the motherboard though.

Have you tried a different video card? Is the monitor led flashing like it's in standby?
