I bought it in store. the S/N of my psu is not in the database of the retailer. I have no idea why it is not in.
I forgot what i used to buy the PSU, cash, debit or credit i dont remember...
Its been 4 years and i have a dozen of credit cards.
I will try looking through CC statements but the chace of finding it is low.
I dont know if im being unreasonable but i think the reason receipt is needed is to decrease the number of return.
They say there are a few reasons receipt is needed.
1. Valid warranty period. This model is released in 2009 and has 7 years warranty so the warranty can be validated without receipt.
2. Original owner. I dont see how a receipt can prove the originwl owner. If i were to sell this PSU i could have sold it wih the receipt together. In fact knowing this rule i will probably do so to increase the value of the item im selling.
3. That i purchased it from an authorized reseller. i didnt know that the warrwnty will be voided if i buy something from a non authorized reseller. So the next time i buy Corsair stuff i have to know their list of authorized resellers? Seems overly complicated buying process to me.
The receipt is needed even for their lifetime warranty stuff.
