SCSI card problem!

Hi all,

I have a Dell 530 with SCSI for its hard drives. I have added a Adaptec 2940UW SCSI card for an external DLT drive. When the pc boots, it sees both cards but it does not see any devices that are on the 2940UW card! I have tried different cables, devices and terminators. I have even tried different cards! Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

Failure to detect devices is usually due to duplicate SCSI addresses.

Also, make sure to disable the BIOS on the second SCSI card. It maybe
trying to BOOT from the DLT or other device on the chain.

Do you have the last device in the chain Properly Terminated (active)?

I have two 2940's in my computer with 3 IBM-PSG drives, I always have problems whenever I change anything it seems. There are alot of bios options on the card, check to see that its set to scan the ID you have assigned for the DAT drive. Maybe your drive is broke, see if any other scsi devices are recognised on the 2940UW.
