Interesting comparison.

I guess its time to update my daughters computer. The Iwill KK266r using sdram is the only one in the house still using it. Will it make barbie run better?

Just as I guessed, CPU banchmark has no difference. My SDRAM@177's Sandra 2001 Memory score is 1049/1049.

sorry, but the tests don't really tell the true story....

cpu/ multimedia isn't testing the memory sdram or ddram...

both of the 3dmark is no surprise...I saw that with my athlon 1.4tbird...3dmark will rspond more by ocing the memory on the videocard...I think the memory on the card is rarely saturated enough to even use the system memory...therefore no real effect...bandwidth scores show 155 percent increase over sd-ram but 3dmark only sees 10 percent in performance...the ddr ram on the card is going faster then either system memory...

tomshardware has done test to show where in real world situations this lower bandwidth of sdram will start effecting performance...

whitemouse, don't get to excited!!!!

actually i was very surprised at the Overclocked SDram results - even against 333DDR, its not horrible.

alot of ppl are on a budget and already have good SDram, so its not that bad an idea to keep it. (especially if youre not a gamer)
if you have the $ tho, get some DDR

i posted the CPU and Media results just to show if there was a difference in platforms.
obviously i ran alot more tests then this, but these tests represent the differences best.

I have an SDRAM rig @ 150FSB and my sandra benchmark shows 1119/1123 memory benchmarks.

my 3dmark scores usually compare pretty close to DDR rigs. so to me, spending the $$ to upgrade would just be "to have whats the newest" as all games/apps/benches run fine

Athlon XP1600 @10.5x150
Abit KT7A KT133A mobo
512mb Micron PC133 CL2
ATI Radeon 8500 OEM (250/275)
Sound Blaster Live X-Gamer
Maxtor 20gb 5400 HDD
